The grand celebration of culture, grace, and Newa identity came alive at the prestigious Miss Newa World 1146, held at Jyapu Pragya Bhawan. Organized by Khagesh Ranjitkar under the banner of Rex Entertainment, the pageant stood as a vibrant platform dedicated to honoring heritage while empowering young women with confidence, poise, and purpose.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Apravi Maharjan, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the program, while the stage was elevated by the dynamic choreography and engaging hosting of fashion choreographer and media personality Rojin Shakya.
Emerging as the winner, Jiyana Maharjan captivated both judges and audience with her elegance, confidence, and commanding stage presence, further earning multiple accolades including Miss Catwalk, Miss Friendship, Miss Best Dress, and Organization Choice highlighting her all-round excellence.
The First Runner-Up, Praniska Tandukar, demonstrated remarkable versatility and talent, securing titles such as Miss Fitness, Miss Talent, and Brand Ambassador. Likewise, Second Runner-Up Pratima Shakya was recognized for her composure and discipline, earning the Miss Discipline title.

Third Runner-Up Deepika Maharjan impressed with her intellect and social awareness, winning Miss Smart and Social Ambassador, while Fourth Runner-Up Kashish Shahi stood out for her sharp personality and confidence, receiving the Miss Acute title.
The event was further dignified by the presence of Chief Guest Rina Kumari Sah, Mayor of Maulapur, whose attendance underscored the importance of such cultural platforms in fostering women’s empowerment and representation. Special Guest Niranjan Poudel brought attention to environmental consciousness, while Tribhuwan Shah and Debendra Thakur added further prominence and societal relevance to the occasion.
The competition was evaluated by a distinguished and diverse panel of judges including Rojika Bajracharya, personality coach Prabha Amatya, dance choreographer Rohiya Maharjan, fashion designer Shreya Maharjan, and Mandira Raut, President of Utsha Learning Center, whose expertise ensured a fair and comprehensive evaluation of the contestants.
The crowning moment reached its pinnacle as the reigning queen Larisha Shahi gracefully passed on her crown to the new titleholder, symbolizing continuity, legacy, and the enduring spirit of Newar culture.
