Biraj Bhatt and Samir Bhatt’s confrontation takes centre stage in the trailer for 12 Gaun 2
Biraj Bhatt and Samir Bhatt stand on opposing sides in the newly released trailer for 12 Gaun 2, bringing a personal confrontation to a story packed with action, rescue missions and revenge. Their characters’ reasons for turning against each other remain under wraps, giving the trailer its central question: what puts these two men at odds?
The trailer arrives just three days before the Nepali film opens in cinemas on October 16, corresponding to Ashoj 30. Biraj directs the film and takes a leading role alongside Samir and Anoop Bikram Shahi.
The promotional footage places Biraj and Samir at the centre of the conflict. Both appear in aggressive action roles, with confrontational exchanges and fight sequences shaping the trailer’s tone. Their face-off offers a glimpse of the tension without fully explaining the relationship between their characters.
Scenes involving kidnapping and rescue suggest that the violence connects to a more personal struggle. Family relationships and revenge also feature in the material, although the trailer leaves the sequence of events and the characters’ motivations largely unexplained.
That uncertainty gives the confrontation room to develop beyond what the promotional footage reveals. Rather than laying out the entire plot, the trailer introduces the conflict and holds back its cause.
Anoop Bikram Shahi appears as an antagonist, adding another threat to a story already built around competing characters. His presence introduces a further question about how his role connects to Biraj and Samir’s clash. The trailer offers only a limited look at his character’s intentions.
While action drives the latest promotion, the film’s previously released songs have introduced a softer side. “Juneli” paired Samir with Krishu Shahi in romantic scenes, while “Lali Gurans” also featured the duo through music and dance. “Reshami Rumal” is another song released ahead of the film’s theatrical opening.
Together, the songs and trailer point to a film that brings romance and family ties into its action story. Samir’s romantic appearances in the music videos contrast with the confrontational character seen in the trailer, offering glimpses of different sides of his role.
The cast also includes Prakash Shah, Sunil Pokharel, Kalu Rana, Khushi Karki and Pushkar Bhatt. Krishu Shahi, also credited as Kafiya, and Barsha Itani make their film debuts with the production.
Santosh Sarkar has written the story and screenplay. Mahesh Paudel handles cinematography, with Bande Prasad editing the film. Yug Bhusal and DP Khanal provide the music, while Ramji Lamichhane and Siyon Shrestha handle choreography.
Stunt Silva and Shankar Maharjan direct the action, a major focus of the trailer and the film’s promotional campaign.
Govinda Shahi’s Kafiya Films will distribute 12 Gaun 2 in the Kathmandu Valley, with Kuber Distribution handling its release outside the Valley.
Arriving during the Dashain season, 12 Gaun 2 brings Biraj and Samir’s screen confrontation to cinemas on October 16. The trailer sets up their conflict; the film will reveal the relationship and motives behind it.
