A son’s search for his mother takes centre stage in the official trailer of Aa Bata Aama 2, which brings Paul Shah, Bipana Thapa and Malika Mahat into a story of love, separation and family ties. Directed by Chandra Pant, the Nepali film arrives in cinemas across Nepal on October 16, 2026, coinciding with Ashoj 30 and the Dashain season.

Nearly five-minute trailer offers a closer look at the emotional struggles behind the film’s family story. While romance forms part of the narrative, the relationship between a mother and her son remains its main focus.

Paul plays Krishna, with Malika appearing as Radha and Bipana portraying the mother. Krishna’s love story runs alongside his attachment to his mother, bringing two important relationships into a narrative shaped by affection, uncertainty and separation.

The trailer opens with a sequence involving a puppy that introduces the connection between a mother and her offspring. It then moves towards Krishna’s struggle to find his mother, giving the story a more painful direction.

Its closing moments show Paul’s character in deep distress, suggesting that the separation carries consequences beyond an ordinary family disagreement. The preview leaves the circumstances behind his suffering unresolved.

Aakash Shrestha also appears in the trailer, although his character’s place in the conflict remains unclear. His presence adds another question to a story that reveals its emotional stakes while holding back key answers.

The Dashain release gives the film’s family theme a timely setting. During a festival closely associated with homecomings and reunions, a story about a mother and son separated from each other carries an immediate connection to the season.

The trailer follows the release of “Achel Kina Kanchi,” a wedding dance number featuring Paul, Malika and Aakash. Sung by Ravi Oad and Ganga Sonam, the song introduced the film’s celebratory side. The latest preview brings its family conflict and separation into sharper focus.

Presented by Aarya Entertainment, Aa Bata Aama 2 also features Pradeep Rawat, Sabin Shrestha, Rishta Gurung, Nikita Acharya, Saigres Pokhrel, Gajit Bista, Naren Khadka and Dilip Akheda.

Chandra Pant directs the film and is credited with its story and screenplay. Nawaraj Uprety handles cinematography, while Sahil Khan and Milan Shrestha edit the film. The musical team includes Babul Giri, with choreography by Gambhir Bista.

With the trailer now released, audiences will discover the full story behind Krishna’s search when Aa Bata Aama 2 opens in Nepal this Friday, October 16.
