Girish Ratna Shakya to Represent Nepal at Mister Global 2026
Nepal is set to make its presence felt on another international pageant stage as Mister Global Nepal 2025 Girish Ratna Shakya heads to Thailand to compete at Mister Global 2026.
Shakya departed Nepal on Monday aboard a Nepal Airlines flight, beginning his international pageant journey ahead of the competition, which brings together male representatives from around the world.
Mister Global 2026 activities begin in Thailand on September 29, with the grand finale scheduled for October 10 at MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi.
Around 40 international delegates are expected to compete this year, with Shakya representing Nepal among contestants from countries including Thailand, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, South Africa, Colombia, Mexico and several others.
For Shakya, the trip marks the next major chapter following his success at Mister Nepal 2025.
He earned the right to represent Nepal internationally after winning the Mister Global Nepal 2025 title at the Mister Nepal grand finale held at The Soaltee Kathmandu in September 2025. Himanchal Raj KC was crowned Mister Nepal World 2025, while Prakash Chauhan won the Man of the World Nepal title.
Shakya also received the ‘Gentleman with Purpose’ subtitle during the national competition, adding recognition to his Mister Nepal journey.
Taking Nepali identity to the global stage
At Mister Global 2026, Shakya is expected to bring more than his runway presence to the competition.
According to Next Models Nepal, the Nepali representative has completed the required grooming and preparation ahead of the international event and will showcase elements of Nepal’s art, culture and national identity during his participation.
The pageant calendar includes several activities before the finale. One of the major stages comes on October 7, when delegates are scheduled to appear in the National Costume and Preliminary Competition at MCC Hall. The segment gives contestants an opportunity to showcase their cultural identities alongside their stage presence and individual personalities.
The Mister Global 2026 final will then take place on October 10 at the same venue in Nonthaburi.
Shakya’s participation also continues Nepal’s growing presence in international male pageantry. Mister Nepal, organised by Next Models Nepal, has served as a platform for selecting Nepali representatives for several international competitions while focusing on grooming, personality development, public speaking and stage presentation.
After winning his national title in Kathmandu, Shakya now steps onto a much larger stage, this time carrying Nepal’s name, cultural identity and pageant ambitions to Thailand.
