Tara Devi
Tara Devi was born on 1945 at Indra Chok located in Kathmandu. She started singing at age seven, since then; she recorded more than 4,000 Nepali songs in her 40 years of singing career. Especially she sang about patriotism and love.
Tara Devi was granted with an honor “Swor Samragi”, she had reached the height of popularity in Nepal as a singing artist. ‘Ukali Orali Haruma…’ ‘Phoolako Thunga…’ ‘Kali Pari Dai…’ ‘A Kanchha…’ ‘Himalako Kaakhama…’ ‘Sanguri Wari ni hou tyo dhara pani..’ are the most popular songs by tara devi.
