Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT) has been recognized as the Best College on the prestigious occasion of Purbanchal University’s 31st anniversary celebration. The award ceremony, held with grandeur, honored NCFT for its remarkable contributions to enhancing the academic excellence and reputation of the university.
Affiliated with the Faculty of Management at Purbanchal University, Namuna College of Fashion Technology holds the distinction of being Nepal’s first institution to introduce fashion technology as an academic discipline. The college has been offering high-quality professional education, carving a niche in Nepal’s higher education landscape with its innovative and industry-aligned programs.
The recognition was formally handed over to the Founding Principal of NCFT, Mrs. Gyani Shova Tuladhar, a visionary leader in Nepal’s fashion industry. She received the award from the Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University, Prof. Dr. Bijukumar Thapaliya, and Registrar Nilamani Pokharel during the anniversary celebrations.
This is not the first time NCFT has been lauded for its excellence. In 2022, the college was named International College of the Year by Higher Education Review, a reputed Indian publication. The following year, in 2023, it earned the title Most Prominent Fashion Designing College in Nepal at the Second Annual World Signature Awards held in India. These accolades highlight the college’s growing recognition on international platforms and its unwavering commitment to academic and professional excellence.

Namuna College of Fashion Technology was established in 2002 under the leadership of Mrs. Gyani Shova Tuladhar, who is celebrated as a trailblazer in Nepal’s fashion industry. Her vision was to create a platform for aspiring fashion designers to acquire world-class education and practical skills within Nepal.
The college initially offered a three-year Bachelor of Fashion Design (BFD) program, introducing professional and practical education in fashion designing. Recognizing the evolving demands of the global fashion industry, NCFT upgraded its academic curriculum in 2016, launching a four-year Bachelor of Fashion Design and Management (BFDM) program. This transformation underscored its commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and producing graduates equipped with both creative and managerial expertise.

Over its 22-year journey, Namuna College has consistently produced highly skilled professionals in the field of fashion designing. With 18 graduating batches so far, the college has established itself as a leading institution, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
Currently, the college has commenced classes for its 23rd batch of students, while the 19th batch, comprising 89 students, is preparing for its highly anticipated graduation fashion show. This showcase, titled Anukalpita Prabhanam, promises to be a celebration of creativity and innovation, reflecting the students’ journey and skills honed at the college. The event is scheduled for March 28 and is expected to draw significant attention from the fashion industry and beyond.
