Glamour Nepal, Kathmandu – 23 years of age, earlier as first runner-ups of Miss Mongol Nepal 2010, Dharan girl Subin Limbu was crowned Fanta The Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2014 in a star studded event at Army officers club, Kathmandu on Friday evening of 2nd May 2014. She was crowned with Miss Nepal World title and was selected amongst 18 other gorgeous finalists. Subin was crowned at the event by Ishani Shrestha, Miss Nepal 2013. Along with the crown of Miss Nepal 2014, Subin received cash prize worth Rupees One Lakh and NPR 51000 worth shares of Hydropower Project by Hydro solutions. Subin even was elected as the WWF young Conservation Ambassador.
The runners up were Prinsha Shrestha (1st runner-up) from Kathmandu and Sonie Rajbhandari (2nd runner-up) from Pokhara. Prinsha and Sonie were declared as Miss Nepal Earth 2014 and Miss Nepal International 2014. Prinsha received cash prize worth rupees sixty thousand while she was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador of IUCN. Likewise Sonie received cash prize worth rupees forty thousand.
The event saw spectacular performances by celebrities like Harshika Shrestha and Nisha Adhikari, the leading faces of forth coming movie called Mukhauta in a song of the movie itself while the male cast of the movie Arpan Thapa, Saugat Malla, Dayahang Rai and Prashant Tamrakar did made their stage appearance in the same performance. The event also witnessed the Spanish form of dance called flamingo by Philipino dancer.
The panel of jury comprised of former Miss Nepal Earth and media personality Sahana Bajracharya, Director of Team Quest Pvt. Ltd and Digital Cinema Nepal Nakim Uddin, Economist and Journalist Namrata Sharma, noted Obstetrician and Gyneocologist Dr. Sabina Shrestha Pradhan, General Manager for Hotel Radisson Nepal Anil Mallik, Youth Enterpreneur and currently Managing Director of the Jyoti Group Suhrid Jyoti, Country Marketing Manager for Bottlers Nepal Ltd. Pranaya Ratna Sthapit, Social activist Pramada Shah, Head of Water Aid in Nepal Aashutosh Tiwari and Television personality Shivani Thapa Basnyat, leaded by former chief of Nepal Army Rookmangud Katawal.
The event started with the introductory phase of the contestants where they took the stage and performed in the outfits designed by SABAH Nepal and designer Mukta Shrestha. During the introductory phase, the pre recorded version of the contestant’s introduction was been played rather than the live delivery of introductory script. The second phase came with contestants performing in the casual wear designs by the sister brother designer duo Antee and Ajay Gurung from Inspire boutique. From here on the top ten finalists were been selected. This elimination was been based on the performance by the contestants in the prejudging session conducted prior the grand finale and added by the scoring made during the performance of the first phase of the competition. The top ten finalists went through the question answer session with the panel of judges. Then from here on five finalists were been finalized. For the final performance the finalists sashayed the ramp looking stunning in the gorgeous evening gowns one more time by Antee and Ajay Gurung.
The contestants who made to the top ten were Rashmita Maharjan, Neha Bajaj, Subin Limbu, Sitoshna Ban, Alisha Kunwar, Varsha Rai, Pranyna K.C., Aastha Pokharel, Prinsha Shrestha and Sonie Raj Bhandari. Among them Subin, Aastha, Prinsha, Sonie and Pranyna entered to the final five.
3D mapping, choreography by Rachana Gurung Sharma, sound designed by DJ Vital and hair do and make-up by Sakil Kunwar were the highlights of the events.
