Sahara R Shah is set to make her Nepali film debut opposite Pradeep Khadka in ‘26 Crore’. The film was announced at an event in Mumbai attended by Vivek Oberoi.
Sahara R Shah has survived cancer and pursued her dream of acting. Now she is set to make her Nepali film debut opposite Pradeep Khadka in 26 Crore. The announcement was a proud moment for Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who has supported his adopted daughter since she was a child.
Sahara was signed as the film’s lead actress on Tuesday evening at the Cancer Patients Aid Association’s (CPAA) Rose Day event at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. She and producer Subash Bhusal signed the agreement in Oberoi’s presence.
Oberoi first met Sahara when she was a young child undergoing cancer treatment. At the event, he spoke about her journey from that difficult period to signing her first film. Sahara, now cancer-free, thanked him for supporting her ambitions in acting and other fields.
Sahara has trained at Anupam Kher’s acting school, Actor Prepares. Director Bikash Subedi said she was chosen through an audition, adding that the story called for an actress with a Hindi accent. Pradeep Khadka had already been signed for the film’s lead role.
Subedi will write and direct 26 Crore, which the production team says will explore a social theme. Before signing the film, Sahara sought blessings from Oberoi and Taare Zameen Par writer Amole Gupte.
Produced under the Kingdom Network banner, the film is planned for shooting in November and December. Bhusal said the proposed locations are Jumla and Kathmandu in Nepal, and Mumbai and Kedarnath in India. According to the production team, Karnali Film Festival director Chakra Bahadur Chand coordinated the announcement event in Mumbai.
