Play ‘Jaar’ is being staged at Mandala Theaters. The story of ‘Jaar’ or ‘a person who elopes with other’s wife’ will be presented in big screen too. ‘Chadke’ director Nigan Shrestha is translating the play into movie.
Former Miss Nepal Shristi Shrestha will be debuting in Nepali film industry through this film. Artists along with Shristi are busy in workshop and receiving trainings from theater artist Sunil Pokharel.
“Shristi is debuting through Jaar. She is in workshop with us,” said one of the artists attending the workshop. Shristi was crowned Miss Nepal in 2012. Miss Nepal Jharana Bajracharya, Malvika Subba and Malina Joshi have already acted in films.
But, for these actress-turned-models, acting in movie didn’t bear fruits much. Jharana acted in films for few years but, is now anonymous. ‘Good Bye Kathmandu’ through which another beauty queen Malvika is debuting is stuck in shooting since three years. She had recently announced producing ‘How Funny’. Malina Joshi-starrer ‘Ritu’ failed to do good business.
According to ‘Jaar’ team, Saugat Malla will be in opposite role to Shristi. Audiences have loved ‘Jaar’ as a play. Sunil Pokharel has translated one incident of story of Indra Bahadur Rai in play and also directed it. Khagendra Lamichhane has done theatrical transformation of the story.
