Eight-year old Saugat Bista has set a Guinness world record by directing a feature film ‘Love you baba’. He is the first Nepali film director to register his name in the world record book by directing a movie at the youngest age.
Guinness World Record has certified him as the ‘Youngest Director of a professionally feature length film’. “The youngest director of a professionally made feature length film is Saugat Bista (Nepal, b. 6 January 2007), who was aged 7 years and 340 days when ‘Love you baba’ (Nepal, 2014) was released in cinemas on 12 December 2014,” reads the certificate of the Guinness World Record awarded to Bista.
The youngest director Bista has also acquired the membership of Nepal Filf Directors Association. Gajit Bista, actor and father of the youngest director, denied making any comment about his son’s world record. “We will share everything tomorrow holding a press-meet so I do not want to make any comment today,” actor Gajit Bista told Glamour Nepal.
