Pradeep Khadka and Sanisha Bhattarai Exchange Rings
Nepali cinema is set to welcome a fresh on-screen pairing as Pradeep Khadka and Sanisha Bhattarai come together for director Sudarshan Thapa’s new romantic film, ‘Shubha Bibaha.’ The makers officially announced the project in Kathmandu, unveiling its cast, technical team and release date.
The film also marks a notable reunion between Pradeep Khadka and Sudarshan Thapa, who are collaborating again nearly a decade after ‘Prem Geet,’ released in 2016. The romantic drama became one of the most talked-about films of Pradeep’s career, making their reunion one of the key attractions of ‘Shubha Bibaha.’
This time, Sanisha Bhattarai will be seen opposite Pradeep. Her association with the project had already generated discussion in film circles before the official announcement, but the makers formally confirmed her participation at Thursday’s event.
The announcement also introduced a new production company, Priyadarshan Films. The film will be produced by Supriya Katuwal, while Sam Bhujel will serve as executive producer.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding ‘Shubha Bibaha’ is the reunion of Pradeep and Sudarshan.
Sudarshan directed ‘Prem Geet,’ which was released in 2016 and went on to become one of the notable films in Pradeep’s career. Nearly a decade later, the actor and director are returning to the romantic genre together.
Adding a new dimension to the collaboration is Sanisha, who will share the screen with Pradeep for the first time.
The launch event itself was designed around the film’s wedding theme. In the event, Pradeep and Sanisha even exchanged rings in an engagement-style presentation. However, the moment was part of the promotional concept for ‘Shubha Bibaha’ and not a real-life engagement.

Alongside Pradeep and Sanisha, the film will feature an extensive supporting cast including Harihar Sharma, Basundhara Bhusal, Mukunda Kishor Bhattarai, Krishna Dhungana, Bishal Pahari, Anshu Maharjan, Binda Khatiwada, Anita Basnet, Mexam Gaudel, Santosh Thapa, Sunisha Bajgain, Aashma Giri, Rameshwar Rijal, Suhan Shrestha and Ramesh Bajracharya.
‘Shubha Bibaha’ will be built around a romantic storyline written by Pradeep Srivastava, with Ramsharan Pathak handling the screenplay and dialogues.
Arjun Pokharel will compose the music, while Raven Aarti Singh will create the background score.
The film will be shot by cinematographer Rajesh Shrestha, with Milan Shrestha handling editing and Rajendra Moktan overseeing color grading. Bikram Swar has joined as choreographer, while Sahil Khan will edit the trailer.
Basanta Adhikari will serve as chief assistant director, with Sajan Kattel and Prarthana Pathak as co-directors. Manoj Lama will handle sound, Roshan Diwana will oversee art direction, and Sudip Dhakal will work as production manager.
Costumes will be designed by Sushila KC and Aakriti Pant. Anand Maharjan will handle publicity design and posters, Manoj Shrestha will create the company logo animation, and Ananta Ghimire will be responsible for teaser animation.
The makers have announced that filming will begin soon, with ‘Shubha Bibaha’ scheduled for nationwide release on Falgun 21, 2083, corresponding to March 5, 2027.
Interestingly, ‘Ratyauli,’ starring Pooja Sharma and Bijay Baral, has already announced the same release date. The film is being directed by Muskan Dhakal.
If neither production changes its schedule, Nepali audiences could see a notable box-office clash between the two films in Falgun.
The fresh pairing of Pradeep and Sanisha, the decade-long reunion of Pradeep and Sudarshan, and a wedding-themed promotional strategy, ‘Shubha Bibaha’ has already begun generating attention even before cameras start rolling.
