What Story Is ‘Pension Patta’ Trying to Tell Through Its Three Posters?

The first look of ‘Pension Patta’, starring Dayahang Rai and Gaumaya Gurung, has been released. Directed by Maotse Gurung, the film promises an emotional story of rural life, love, struggle, family bonds, and ex-army life.


The first look of ‘Pension Patta’, a Nepali film directed by actor-filmmaker Maotse Gurung, has been officially unveiled. The production team released three different posters of the film, formally beginning its promotional campaign.

The posters offer a strong glimpse into the film’s emotional world, highlighting rural life, family relationships, love, struggle, responsibility, and the human side of an ex-army man’s journey.

In the first poster, Dayahang Rai and Gaumaya Gurung are seen in a peaceful village setting. Gaumaya is shown holding a young goat in her lap, while Dayahang’s expressive look hints at simplicity, warmth, and deep human emotion. The image suggests that the film will carry a grounded, heartfelt tone.

The second poster presents both characters walking together along a waterfall path. Gaumaya is seen carrying a traditional basket, while Dayahang moves ahead with a load. Their hand-in-hand journey reflects love, companionship, struggle, and shared responsibility. The natural backdrop adds emotional depth to the visual storytelling.

The third poster shows Dayahang in a military uniform, while Gaumaya appears in traditional Gurung attire. The presence of younger characters in the background hints at themes of love, waiting, family, and generational connection.

Produced under the banner of Maotse Gurung Films, ‘Pension Patta’ is described as a story of hope, struggle, and human emotion. According to director Gurung, the film revolves around the efforts one makes to achieve life goals and the relationships that shape that journey.

The film stars Dayahang Rai, Gaumaya Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Pushkar Gurung, Pashupati Rai, late Sunil Thapa, Sol Gurung, Manoj Gurung, Anusha Rai, and Lunibha Tuladhar, among others.

The story and direction are by Maotse Gurung. The film’s cinematography is handled by Sushan Prajapati, editing by Ker D. Koich Linuch, color by Rajendra Moktan, sound design by Uttam Neupane, sync sound by Nabin Shrestha, VFX by Manoj Shrestha, and art direction by Raju Yakcha.

The producers of the film are Min Konme Gurung, Bhoj Bahadur Gurung, Maya Gurung, and Sapana Gurung. D.B. Gurung serves as the production manager. The film’s songs feature lyrics by Harka Saud, Shiva Baraili, and Suraj Tamu, with music by Manoj Thapa Magar, Shiva Baraili, and Suraj Tamu.

The Nepal distribution rights have been taken by RR Films. According to the production team, the film’s international screening rights have already been sold for Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, while discussions are underway for other countries with a significant Nepali diaspora presence.

Set to release across Nepal on Bhadra 26, coinciding with the festive period of Haritalika Teej, ‘Pension Patta’ is expected to bring a moving story of rural life, family bonds, love, sacrifice, and human sensitivity to the big screen.
