Nancy Khadka’s Silent Look in ‘Akshara’ Poster Creates Curiosity

The first-look poster of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Akshara’ has been unveiled, offering audiences a quiet but striking glimpse into the emotional world of the film.

Scheduled to release on Bhadra 26, the film has begun its promotional journey with a poster that places lead actress Nancy Khadka at the center of a visually symbolic frame. In the poster, Nancy is seen sitting alone on a stone platform beneath barren trees. Her calm posture, distant gaze and restrained expression suggest a character carrying emotional weight, inner conflict or unresolved pain.

The background adds further depth to the mood. Leafless trees, a lonely setting and the warm yet fading light create a sense of emptiness, silence and emotional struggle. While the makers have not fully revealed the storyline, the poster strongly hints that ‘Akshara’ may be a character-driven film built around sensitive human emotions.

Nancy Khadka has been gaining attention in the Nepali entertainment scene. She previously appeared in the successful film ’12 Gaun’ and is also associated with the upcoming Anmol KC film ‘Batulo Jun.” A former beauty pageant titleholder, Nancy won Miss Nepal International 2022 and represented Nepal on an international stage in Japan.

Directed by Binay Raj Poudel, ‘Akshara’ features Nancy Khadka alongside Sushil Sitoula, Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Srijana Khadka, Uttam K.C., Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Geeta Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha, Suman Jyoti Neupane, Nisha Panthi, Mohan Adhikari, Trilochan Neupane and others. Child artists Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana are also part of the cast.

Presented by Soni Thapa Dhungana, the film is produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House. Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugresen Dhungana are the producers, while the original story is written by Ugrasen Dhungana. The screenplay and dialogues have been written by director Poudel with Abhimanyu Nirabi.

The film’s technical team includes Karnaraj Giri in music, Surendra Rana in lyrics, Ramji Lamichhane in choreography, Shankar Maharjan in action direction, Dipen Basnyat in cinematography and Gautam Raj Khadka in editing. The poster has been designed by Rakesh Dahal, while National Cine Group Nepal will distribute the film across Nepal.

Akshara has managed to create curiosity without revealing too much. Nancy Khadka’s silent expression and the emotionally heavy visual setting suggest that the film may explore pain, loneliness and personal struggle. The next focus now moves to the teaser, songs and trailer, which are expected to reveal more about the story behind that silence.
