Namrata Shrestha to play infertile woman in Yerma

After big screen, actress Namrata Shrestha is being active in drama too. During a press meet in the capital on Friday, information was given about the drama ‘Yerma’, the third drama to be acted by the actress. The drama will be staged by Bimal Subedi in Nepal, 60 years later Spanish dramatist Federico Garcia penned it.

The drama organized by One World Theater will be staged at Theater Village from November 29 to December 21. Raj Kumar Pudasaini, Kamal Mani Nepal, Summina Sangpang and Sirjana Adhikari are also acting in the play.

‘Yerma’ meaning an infertile woman is a story of a sheep herder and it has been adapted according to Nepali situation in the play.

“ The story of Spain has been tried to connected with Nepali society,” director Subedi said, “ The play depicts an infertile woman and sentiments of her family.”
The play will be presented in poetic style.
