The promotional campaign for the upcoming Nepali film ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2’ has moved into its musical phase with the release of its first song, ‘Maya Chhapakkai’. The official title track is already drawing attention from viewers and social media users as the film prepares for its Dashain release.
The song was originally scheduled to premiere at 5 pm but was released around three and a half hours later due to technical issues. The delay, however, did little to dampen the audience response once the video finally arrived.
Reactions began appearing across social media soon after the release, with viewers commenting on the song’s music, lyrics and overall presentation. Some users also responded to the delayed premiere with the playful remark, “Dhila aayo, kada aayo” roughly meaning, “It came late, but it came strong.”
The title song arrives as ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2’ steps up its campaign ahead of its theatrical release on Ashoj 31, coinciding with Dashain’s Phulpati festival.
The title track features collective vocals by Karan Pariyar, Abhi Sunar, Bishal Niraula and Rashmi Bishwakarma.
Abhi Sunar has written the lyrics and composed the music, while Bishal Niraula handled the arrangement. Ranjan Rai completed the mixing and mastering at Alankar Studio.
The instrumental lineup includes Samiran Jayaru on sanai, Ratna B.K. on flute, Bhuwan Gandharva on rhythm and Sanjeev Baraili on guitar.
With four singers and a combination of traditional and contemporary instrumentation, the song serves as the first musical introduction to the film ahead of its festive-season release.

The ensemble cast also includes Keki Adhikari, Deepa Shree Niraula, Sanisha Bhattarai, Karma Shakya, Prakash Ghimire, Rama Thapaliya, Nirmal Sharma, Sharada Giri, also known as Kali Aama, Maxam Gaudel, Bishnu Sapkota and Rabindra Jha.
The film is directed by Dipendra Lama, with the story and screenplay written by Deepak Raj Giri. Deepa Shree Niraula serves as the artist adviser, while Rohit Adhikari is the producer.
Nirmal Sharma and Suraj Bam Thakuri are the executive producers.
Sushan Prajapati, Alok Shukla and Bishal Prajapati are credited with cinematography, while Bipin Malla has edited the film. Kiran Thapa is the choreographer and Tujil Karmacharya has composed the background score.
Apple Entertainment, FD Company and Rich Entertainment are handling distribution, with OSR Digital serving as the digital partner.
Presented jointly by Aama Saraswati Movies, Rohit Adhikari Films and IME, ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2’ follows the 2019 film ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai’.
The original film was also directed by Dipendra Lama, written by Deepak Raj Giri and produced by Rohit Adhikari, making the sequel a reunion of key members of the creative team.
With its first song now out, ‘Chha Maya Chhapakkai 2’ has formally begun the next stage of its promotional campaign as it heads toward one of Nepal’s busiest moviegoing periods of the year.
