Anmol KC-starrer Batulo Jun has stepped out of the crowded Dashain box-office race. The film’s production team has announced November 12 (Kartik 26) as its new theatrical release date, moving the film from its previously scheduled October 16 (Asoj 30) opening.
The team announced the change through a statement shared on Facebook alongside a new poster featuring Anmol KC and Princy Khatiwada.
According to the statement, Batulo Jun had initially promised audiences a Dashain release. However, with four other films also lined up for the festive period, the makers reconsidered the plan following discussions with exhibitors and distributors.
The team said concerns over screen availability played a key role in the decision. Rather than adding another film to an already crowded release window, the makers opted to shift Batulo Jun to a later date.
Highlighting the importance of cooperation within Nepal’s film industry, the team also extended its best wishes to the four films remaining in the Dashain lineup. The statement did not identify those films by name.
The change marks a significant shift from the film’s earlier release strategy. Batulo Jun had previously been scheduled to arrive on October 16 (Asoj 30), around the Dashain festival period. That date was announced earlier this year with a poster featuring Anmol and Princy.

The latest poster features Anmol KC and Princy Khatiwada together beneath a full moon while prominently displaying the film’s revised release date.
Directed by Bhuwan KC, Batulo Jun is produced by Jiya KC and Bhabishya Khadka, with Bibek Thapa credited as co-producer. Samipya Raj Timalsena and Sarin Pokharel have written the screenplay.
The film is presented by Sunrise Pictures. Alongside Anmol and Princy, earlier reports have also named Nancy Khadka, Garima Panta and Bhuwan KC among the cast.
With the Dashain plan now dropped, Batulo Jun gets a separate theatrical window after the festival rush. The key date for audiences waiting to see Anmol KC and Princy Khatiwada together on the big screen is now November 12 (Kartik 26).
