Tila Basyal and Uma Bhujel after being crowned Miss and Mrs. Disability Queen Nepal 2026
Tila Basyal and Uma Bhujel have emerged as the major winners of Mrs. & Miss Disability Queen Nepal 2026, an inclusive pageant designed to spotlight the talent, confidence, communication skills and individuality of women with disabilities.
Organized by Green Arts Media in association with Lions International District 325-F, the grand finale was held on August 5 at Heritage Garden in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
Tila Basyal and Uma Bhujel Win the Crowns
Tila Basyal was crowned Miss Disability Queen Nepal 2026, while Uma Bhujel won the title of Mrs. Disability Queen Nepal 2026.
According to results published by Green Arts Media, Niruta Magar finished as First Runner-Up, while Khendo Tamang was named Second Runner-Up.
The organizers said Basyal also received the Most Talented title, while Bhujel was recognized as Most Disciplined. Both title winners received cash prizes of Rs. 15,000 each.
Niruta Magar won the Most Photogenic subtitle along with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000, while Khendo Tamang received the Bubbly Personality title and Rs. 5,000.
15 Contestants Showcase Talent and Confidence
According to information provided to Glamour Nepal by the organizers, 15 contestants participated in the 2026 edition.
Rather than focusing only on stage presentation, the competition included an Introduction Round, Talent Round and Question-and-Answer Round.
During the talent segment, contestants reportedly presented performances including dance, singing and poetry recitation, giving them different ways to showcase their creativity, personalities and individual strengths.
The format reflected the broader purpose of Disability Queen Nepal: to create a visible platform where women with disabilities can be recognized for their abilities, ambitions and personal expression.
The event has carried a similar message in previous editions. Glamour Nepal also documented women with disabilities taking part in the previous editions, which also highlighted empowerment and ability.
Anila Shrestha Directs and Mentors Contestants
The 2026 competition was directed, choreographed and mentored by Anila Shrestha, according to the organizers. She guided the contestants through their preparation and final stage presentation.
Shrestha has been associated with the initiative for several years. Glamour Nepal reported in 2021 that she was serving as Green Arts Media’s programme director and choreographer and was involved in the introduction of Mrs. and Miss Disability Queen Nepal.
Fashion choreographer and media personality Rojin Shakya hosted the grand finale.
Ganga Chhantyal and Ajaya Prasad Khanal Attend Finale
Ganga Chhantyal attended the event as Guest of Honour. Chhantyal is a Member of Nepal’s House of Representatives and is listed by the Federal Parliament as a member of its International Relations and Tourism Committee.
Ajaya Prasad Khanal, District Governor of Lions International District 325-F for the 2026/27 Lions year, attended as Chief Guest.
For an event centred on representation and inclusion, the presence of guests from public and community leadership added visibility to its wider message.
A Pageant Focused on Visibility and Opportunity
Beauty pageants have traditionally been associated with glamour, presentation and competition. Disability Queen Nepal seeks to broaden that space by providing women with disabilities an opportunity to perform, communicate and present themselves on a public platform.
For the contestants, winning a crown is only one part of the experience. The opportunity to build confidence, demonstrate talent, share personal expression and gain greater public visibility can be equally meaningful.
The 2026 edition ultimately reinforced a simple message: ability, confidence and individuality should never be overshadowed by disability.
