Sanyukta Shrestha wins PETA’s  2021 Vegan Wedding Awards


UK based Nepali fashion designer Sanyukta Shrestha has won Sustainable Fashion Award from the animal welfare organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA. She won the Luxury Award at PETA’s 2021 Vegan Wedding Awards. Shrestha received the accolade for her collection of gorgeous wedding gowns made from high-quality vegan fabrics.

Sanyukta was among the first to introduce sustainability to the bridal industry with the launch of her first international sustainable bridal collection in 2011 made from eco-friendly, cruelty free vegan fibers from hand-spun and hand loomed bamboo, banana, hemp, organic cotton to wild nettle. Shrestha’s work is internationally acclaimed, with one of her sustainable couture creations having been preserved at The Fashion Museum in Bath, England since 2013 which is also made from 100 percent sustainable vegan fibers.

The climate conscious designer had previously won ‘Editor’s Choice Award’ at the Bridal Buyer Award in 2020. Earlier an eco-friendly bridal outlet, Behuli Boutique by Sanyukta Shrestha, was been victorious to bag the title of ‘Wedding Boutique of The Year London’. The boutique was declared as the winner in Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards ceremony.
