Namuna College of Fashion Technology, known for its exceptional creativity, presentation, and craftsmanship, is preparing for the latest edition of its prestigious graduation fashion show. This event has become one of the most awaited and renowned fashion programs in Nepal. The 19th edition of the show, titled “Journey of Fashion,” will be presented under the theme “Anukalpit Prabhanam”
The event is scheduled to take place on March 28th, Friday evening, at The Plaza in Jamsikhel, Lalitpur. This year’s fashion show will feature an unprecedented display of creations inspired by Nepali culture, heritage, and identity, offering a unique experience that reflects the essence of Nepali traditions.
The fashion show will showcase 88 regular wear outfits, each inspired by 9 distinct concepts, providing a diverse and exciting range of designs. A total of 36 male and female models will walk the ramp, presenting these beautiful and diverse collections.
The entire production of the show is being managed by 88 design students from the 19th batch of the college, while fashion choreographer and media personality Rojin Shakya is responsible for the choreography and direction of the event. The coordination of the event is handled by a team of students from the 19th batch, including Prisa Joshi, Anima Shrestha, Priyanshi Khetan, Bharosa Gautam, Senisha Balami, and Nishant Chapagain.
The official media partner for the event is glamournepal.com and yesnepali.com, and the various segments of the show will feature designs inspired by different cultural and traditional aspects of Nepali society.
One of the segments, titled Divyakanta, will be presented by Anisha Samal, Ayushi Thapa, Drishti Malla, Aakriti Kumari Shah, Ayush Dhakal, Jasmin Shrestha, Pema Waiba, Karuna Chaudhary, Perina Gurung, and Eden Sainju.
This collection will draw inspiration from Maya Devi, while another segment, Mimansha, designed by Sumnima Limbu, Nirma Thapa, Kamana Kafle, Sachita Gurung, Roshani Adhikari, Dikshya Pandey, Ashma Rajbhandari, Soita Rijal, Mamta Rana, and Pratiksha Rana, will be inspired by the vibrant Jatra festivals of Kathmandu Valley.
Additionally, the segment titled Himalayan Euphony, created by Deepa Timilsina, Riya Maharjan, Monica Karki, Rujina Maharjan, Prakriti Bhattarai, Nisha Khadka, Sapna DC, Pabitra Bhushal, Divya Thanait, and Smarika Baral, will celebrate the life and culture of the Himalayan region.
Another segment, Samsara, designed by Bharosa Gautam, Sabina Chaudhary , Bisakha Prasain, Simran Khati, Prem Kumari Budhathoki, Rupa Gurung, Purnika Gurung, Nishant Chapagain, and Riha Shrestha, will showcase designs inspired by the cycle of life, symbolizing birth, life, and death.
Furthermore, the segment called Nepalese Nirvana, designed by Sujita Bastola, Anjolina Rai, Ekta Kshetri, Gaumaya Nepali, Nirmal Lama, Priyanka Thapa, Rinu Gurung, Priyanshi Khetan, Prarthana Gautam, and Shikha Rai, will celebrate Nepal’s rich architectural heritage.
Another collection, Prarambhantika, created by Monica Shrestha, Riya Rokka, Sarina Shrestha, Roshan Subba, Sabina Bishwokarma, Barsha Thapa Magar, Riya Limbu, Shilpa Mataachen, Mahima Chaudhary, and Smriti Maharjan, will be inspired by Adi Shakti, representing the primal energy of creation and destruction.
The collection Hiraeth of weaves, designed by Shreedeep Maharjan, Monica Bishwokarma, Prisha Joshi, Sarina Shahi, Anuj Nagarkoti, Anima Shrestha, Sneha Tamrakar, Sahil Lawati, Alaska Karki, and Suchitra Tamang, will celebrate Nepali handicrafts and traditional craftsmanship.
The Suramya Pahiran , created by Mingma Tamang, Saru Giri, Rashmita Shakya,Jyoti Shahi, Lalita Tamang, Rubi Ghale, Anjana Tamang, Rashmi Pulami Magar, and Shubhechha Singh, will showcase designs inspired by the traditional Banarasi sarees.
Lastly, Lush Legacy, designed by Priyanka Baruwal, Barsha Manandhar, Purnima Bhitrikoti, Saimon Limbu, Sakriya Rana Magar, Senisha Balami, Ayusha Gelal, Apeksha Bhimaraita, Sanskriti Upadhyay, and Rusmita Lama, will feature designs inspired by Sovereign luxe.
The event promises to be a grand spectacle that not only showcases the creative flair of the students but also celebrates the beauty and richness of Nepali culture and traditions. Through these collections, the designers aim to blend contemporary fashion with deep cultural roots, providing an experience that is both innovative and rooted in heritage.
Each collection will offer a unique perspective, showcasing a diverse array of designs that range from modern interpretations to traditional influences.
