Anju Thokar Tamang crowned as Miss Tamang 2025


Anju Thokar Tamang, a talented young woman from Nuwakot, emerged victorious in the prestigious Miss Tamang 2025 competition, which marks its 16th edition this year.

This cultural beauty pageant is deeply rooted in the traditions, ethnicity, and cultural heritage of the Tamang community. The grand finale of the competition was held on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi, Kathmandu.

In a remarkable moment, Anju was crowned the winner by the previous year’s titleholder, Riya Lama, in a ceremony that captivated the audience with its cultural significance and elegance.

In addition to clinching the coveted title of Miss Tamang 2025, Anju also won the Miss Photogenic award, further highlighting her stunning appearance and camera-friendly charm. The competition saw stiff competition from a host of talented contestants, but Monalisa Thing Tamang from Sarlahi was named the First Runner-Up, while Priyanka Pakhreen Tamang from Budhanilkantha secured the Second Runner-Up title, and Sushmita Pakhreen Tamang from Dolakha was named the Third Runner-Up.

The Miss Tamang 2025 competition was organized by Moms International Nepal, with Ranjita Lama serving as the primary organizer. The event’s opening was marked by a spectacular welcome dance, directed by Amir Dong.

Fashion choreographer Rojin Shakya played a crucial role in the choreography, ensuring that the contestants’ performances were both graceful and in line with the cultural significance of the competition.

Throughout the event, various special awards were presented to recognize the contestants’ diverse talents and qualities. Bhumikya Syambo Tamang received the Best Smile award, while Yangju Dolma Gyaba Tamang was honored with the Miss Discipline title.

Sujina Thing Tamang was named Best Dress, and Priyanka Pakhreen Tamang won the Viewer’s Choice Award, reflecting her popularity among the audience. Anjila Lopchan Tamang bagged the Multimedia Award, and Samiksha Ghalan Tamang earned the Miss Confident title.

Other notable awards included Best Walk, which went to Samjhana Moktan Tamang, Best Hair awarded to Asmita Dong Tamang, Talent given to Sushmita Pakhreen Tamang, and Personality, which was claimed by Sinora Waiba Tamang. The event not only celebrated beauty but also showcased the contestants’ abilities, confidence, and individuality, reinforcing the significance of the Miss Tamang pageant as a celebration of Tamang culture, community, and empowerment.
