Masterpieces of Anukalpit Prabhanam, NCFT’s 19th graduation fashion show


The 19th graduation fashion show of Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT), titled Anukalpit Prabhanam, was a resounding success, held on March 28, 2025, at The Plaza Nepal, Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur.

The event featured nine distinct collections from 88 graduating designers, blending tradition with modernity. The runway presentations captivated the audience with intricate detailing, innovation, and craftsmanship. The event was been choreographed and directed by fashion choreographer and media person Rojin Shakya.

Here we glamournepal present among you all the masterpieces of each collection named as Divyakanta, Mimamsa, Himalayan Euphony, Samsara, Nepalese Nirvana, Prarambhantika, Hiraeth of Weaves, Suramya Pahiran, and Sovereign Luxe, which showcased the students’ creative flair and cultural connection, offering fresh perspectives on design and stagecraft.

Rajrājeshwari is a masterpiece of royal opulence and spiritual symbolism, honoring the divine feminine energy of Queen Maya Devi. Featuring lotus and mandala motifs, it symbolizes purity, balance, and enlightenment. Deep red velvet signifies strength and passion, while gold embroidery and structured elements evoke celestial power. The lotus mandala train, sacred Buddhist motifs, and a golden tree branch prop represent the harmony between earthly and spiritual realms. A blend of traditional artistry and contemporary elegance, Rajrājeshwari embodies divinity, wisdom, and heritage, celebrating the nurturing, empowering, and transformative essence of the divine feminine in a majestic, ethereal design.

Tejomanditah, meaning “one adorned with divine light,” embodies the radiant energy of Nepal’s grand festivals, especially Indra Jatra. Blending traditional Newar elements with modern craftsmanship, it features a hand-painted cape depicting sacred processions, a bodice inspired by Indra Dhwaja, and ceremonial armor-like textures symbolizing strength and devotion. A divine parasol, adorned with beads and charms, represents protection and blessings. The rich color palette—gold, white, deep red, and purple—reflects divinity, purity, strength, and mysticism. Crafted from luxurious fabrics with intricate embroidery and beadwork, Tejomanditah is a tribute to Nepal’s sacred heritage and the luminous spirit of its celebrations.

This dress is a tribute to tradition, culture, and sustainability, crafted from 46% hemp and 54% cotton. Inspired by Sherpa heritage, its decorative Chauri-inspired horns symbolize strength, with Buddhist amulets for peace and protection. The gown’s body-hugging silhouette, sweetheart neckline, and off-shoulder design exude elegance, while the red, black, and white palette reflects passion, power, and purity. A multi-layered outer skirt mimics the Himalayas, adding depth and drama. Handcrafted accessories, including a beaded necklace, ghau-adorned belt, prayer flags, and a prayer wheel, enhance its spiritual essence. More than fashion, it honors Himalayan culture with artistry and eco-conscious design.

The Mahātattva-themed creative dress symbolizes the Supreme Element, blending spiritual and celestial elements into a profound design. A modern sleeveless t-shirt and A-line pants form the base, complemented by a sash adorned with Nine Chakras, reflecting cosmic influences. The structured Brahma frame highlights the Seven Body Chakras, visually mapping life’s energy flow. A dramatic cape, embellished with Kalachakra motifs, represents time, transformation, and rebirth. By integrating Brahma Chakra, Seven Body Chakras, and Kalachakra, the ensemble embodies the infinite cycle of creation, energy, and transcendence, making it a deeply meaningful and visually striking representation of cosmic continuity.

This garment pays tribute to Nepal’s stunning architecture, blending traditional elements with contemporary fashion. Featuring bold, contrasting colors inspired by Nepali heritage, the design incorporates grand pillars, intricate carvings, temple rooftops, and ornate bells. A corset-style bodice, adorned with golden embellishments and embossed motifs, reflects temple detailing, while a sweeping train adds regal elegance. The tiered headpiece, inspired by pagoda-style temples, serves as a striking focal point. A flowing skirt emphasizes balance and proportion, embodying architectural harmony. This design seamlessly merges structure and decoration, celebrating the timeless beauty of Nepali architecture through an artistic and fashion-forward expression.

Prarambhantika, inspired by Ma Adi Shakti, symbolizes the eternal cycle of creation, transformation, and destruction. The name blends Prarambh (beginning) and Antika (ending), reflecting cosmic balance. The design features a white organza outer layer with black at the top, symbolizing life’s duality. A structural framework supports the gown-like illusion, revealing inner layers with coiling black and white snakes. Metallic silver fabric adds a sleek contrast, while embedded string lights create an ethereal glow. Vibrant floral prints, shiny stones, and crystals enhance the divine aesthetic. Through layers, colors, and lighting, Prarambhantika narrates the timeless journey of existence.

“Mridvika” is more than a garment—it is a tribute to Nepal’s artisanal spirit, cultural empowerment, and heritage. Featuring a sculpted bamboo bodice shaped like a butterfly, it symbolizes liberation and the evolution of traditional craftsmanship. The voluminous skirt, adorned with coiled jute rope, represents strength, continuity, and unity. A kharpan-inspired headpiece reflects balance between tradition and innovation. Gold shimmer accents and braided jute rope in the hairstyle enhance its earthy elegance. Seamlessly merging past and future, nature and design, “Mridvika” embodies the resilience and artistry of Nepal, redefining heritage through sustainable, high-fashion craftsmanship.

Tejalya, meaning “the one who shines,” is a couture creation inspired by Newari culture and the theme “SURAMYA PAHIRAN.” The design features a dramatic mermaid balloon skirt in Burnt Mahogany Banarasi fabric, layered for volume and movement. The upper silhouette includes a skin-colored net bodysuit with a paisley-structured top, adorned with beads, sequins, stones, and dabka. A plaster and clay headpiece, inspired by Luswa and peacock elements, is embellished with vibrant stones. The feather-like feature beneath the skirt, illuminated with SMD lights, symbolizes feminine strength. The look is completed with bold makeup, teardrop earrings, and embellished cuffs, celebrating heritage and modern artistry.

Shreepatra is a creative dress inspired by Nepal’s royal heritage, crafted from gold and blue Dhaka fabric. The ensemble includes a shirt, pant, coat, and cape, exuding opulence and elegance. The shirt features intricate embroidery and an aluminum feather, symbolizing strength and nobility. A dramatic blue cape adds grace, while the gold Dhaka topi pays homage to Nepal’s royal leaders. The aluminum feather, coated in gold, represents power and majesty. Completed with a statement ring, Shreepatra blends tradition with innovation, celebrating Nepal’s legacy with a striking representation of royal fashion, strength, and luxury.
