Rojika Bajracharya Crowned Miss Newa Icon 1145


Rojika Bajracharya has been crowned the winner of Miss Newa: Icon 1145, a prestigious cultural pageant that celebrates the beauty, intellect, and traditions of the Newar community. The grand finale took place at the Dabali of Jyapu Pragya Bhawan, located in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

Rozika not only secured the main title but also made a strong impression by winning multiple sub-titles, including Miss Personality, Best Walk, and Best Dress, showcasing her overall charm, confidence, and elegance throughout the competition.

The first runner-up title was awarded to Ratnita Shakya, who also claimed the Smart and Fitness award, reflecting her poise and physical fitness. Similarly, Yunisha Malakar was named the second runner-up and was also recognized with the Miss Intelligent title, acknowledging her wit and sharp communication skills.

The competition was more than just a beauty pageant; it was an initiative aimed at promoting and preserving the cultural heritage and identity of the Newar community. With a focus on the empowerment of Newar women, the event served as a platform to encourage their active participation in cultural and social discourse. Organized by Khagesh Ranjitkar under the banner of Karaoke Entertainment, the event successfully highlighted the talents and cultural pride of the community’s youth.

Several other contestants were honored with special awards in various categories. Rijana Shrestha stood out by winning both Best Smile and Miss Popular. Tiya Maharjan was crowned Miss Acute, while Simran Balami earned the Beauty with Purpose title. Mina Shrestha won accolades for Miss Talent and Best Hair, and Ridhima Maharjan received recognition in Friendship and Photogenic categories.

Additionally, Suhana Deula was named Best Skin, and Smriti Shahi was awarded for Best in Nepal Bhasa and Discipline, celebrating her cultural fluency and commitment.

The event also featured a musical performance by Newa Idol winner Ashray Ranjit, adding a soulful and celebratory tone to the program. A distinguished panel of judges presided over the competition, including former Miss National and ex-Kumari of Lalitpur Samita Bajracharya, Miss Tamang organizer Ranjita Lama, dance directors Bhuvan Das Shrestha and Pradeep Raman Singh Dangol, makeup artist Sanita Shrestha, Castrol Oil CMO Amar Jyoti Ranjit, and English teacher and singer Sajesh Manandhar.

Cultural expert and historian Siddhi Bahadur Ranjitkar graced the event as the chief guest, adding depth to the ceremony with his insights on Newar heritage. The event’s smooth flow and creative choreography were credited to media personality and fashion choreographer Rojin Shakya, who served as both host and choreographer, ensuring the program’s professional and culturally rich presentation.
