57 aspiring designers, the graduating 12th batch students of Namuna College of fashion technology presented the preview regarding the creative designs they are to showcase finally on 2nd of September 2017 at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Durbarmarg under the direction of Choreographer of Rojin Shakya.
It was about prejudging of their creativity and innovative ideas been put up to bring the dress form in the creative design within the theme of Marine Life. During the pre-judgment session recently been held at college premises itself, the graduating designers displayed the swatch work of their individual designs under the creative theme.
A swatch work is a prototype or design version of the final dress and is made by using swatches/ fabrics and related accessories. It includes all the details of what the final dress would be like in its real life version. The creativity were been found explored with the inspiration taken from various elements of marine life. The 12th graduation show is been named as Ricorrenza De La Moda.
Other than the creative session the show would also feature dresses under themes Lolita fashion, indo-western, beauty queen, corporate fashion and street wear fashion.
The panel of judges consisted of Anu Shrestha (Founder/Designer of Kallisto Designs, Advisory Board Member of Namuna College of Fashion Technology and Fashion Technology Subject Committee Member of Purbanchal University), Ms. Stella Maris Haefele (Noted German Fashion/Costume Designer and Stylist and Visiting Faculty at the college), Mr. Vivekananda Mishra (Chief Technical Officer of Gayatri Pashmina and Advisory Board Member of Namuna College of Fashion Technology), Mr. Bhim Kumar Giri (Managing Director of Black Fashion Industry), Mr. Achal Raj Satyal (Brand Manager of Kantipur Publications), Ms. Alpaja Rajbhandari (Co-Owner/Designer of Ekadeshma – Tales of Nepali Craft).
As been informed by the college management the grades given at the Prejudgment Program will be added to the grades that will be given by the panel of judges to the designers’ creations under the Creative Round sequence during the actual Graduation Fashion Show. The aggregate grades will then later be published by Purbanchal University under the subject Fashion Show as part of its End Semester Board Examinations of Bachelors of Fashion Design (BFD) program.
