Political bias in censor of film Aago-2

Producers of film Aago-2 which has been mired in mess with the film censor board, have accused the censor board of passing their film bowing down due to political interventions.

Organizing a press conference in the capital on Thursday, the film unit accused that the film became victim of conspiracy designed by one of the board member.

Presenter of the film Kishan Pokhrel said that the censor board stopped the censor raising different questions although they had initiated the process before the Dashain festival.

“Some film artists also created pressure on the board to stop censor of the film,” Pokhrel said, “We will be forced to move court for compensation and order for releasing the film.”

Kathmandu Valley distributor of the film, Gopal Kayastha, said that he has received information that board member Suresh Darpan Pokhrel is piling pressure on the board not to censor the film.

“The main reason behind this is political revenge,” he said. On the occasion, director Madan Ghimire said that his film has raised social issues more that political, adding that the movie has raised stern voice against corruption and it won’t affect any sides.

Actor Sushil Chhetri said that he has been saddened by the behavior of the censor board. The film is scheduled to be release on November 28 (Mangsir 12).
