A history creating moment has been earned by Nepalese delegate at Mister Universe 2018. The man from Nepal Phanendra Prasai has been victorious in the event as the winner of Mister National Universe 2018. With this victory 25 years of age Phanendra has become the first Nepalese man to earn the major award at international pageant in the Male category. In the female category earlier in 2003 Aayusha Shrestha registered victory at World Miss University 2003 while in the year 2016 Junita Lama was crowned as winner for Pageant of the World 2016.
Five feet eight and inches tall Phanendra earlier was been the part of Model Hunt Nepal 2017 and was been the winner of second season of Mister and Miss Glamorous Icon. Phanendra got the opportunity to represent at Mister National Universe 2018 after being the winner as Mister Glamorous Icon 2017. His participation was been managed and coordinated by Dream Search Agency run by Kamal Nikon Chhetri, the official franchise at Nepal for the related event.
Phanendra hails from Jhapa and is a graduate in Information Management. Apart from the experience in the modeling competitions he has done couple runway shows and other modeling related projects. Phanendra’s wardrobe related to the event was been designed by Utkrist Bir Bikram Khadka and his national costume for the event was been designed by designer duo Sarina Budhathoki and Sanju Tamang. His mentoring for the participation was been done by Choreographer Dikpal Karki.
The finale of Mister National Universe 2018 was held at Holiday Inn Resort in Hua Hin in Thailand. The finals was completed sorting out Natchanon Singlum from Thailand as first runner-up and Markos Vinicius from Brazil as second runner-up while Kenley Filarca from Philippines was selected as MNU ambassador.
