
National Social Welfare Award 2025 Honors Individuals and Institutions Contributing to Social Transformation
Individuals and organizations that have made remarkable contributions to social transformation and community welfare were honored with the National Social Welfare Award 2025 at a special ceremony organized by Season Media Pvt. Ltd. The prestigious program was held at the National Theatre (Rastriya Nachghar) in Jamal, Kathmandu, recognizing distinguished social activists, professionals, and institution working in diverse sectors of social development.
The award ceremony acknowledged the dedication and impactful work of several personalities whose initiatives have significantly contributed to humanitarian service, community empowerment, social advocacy, and cultural preservation.
Among the distinguished award recipients were Aniket Kapali, honored as a Social Activist; Hikmat Thapa, recognized as a Social Activist; Bimala Shrestha, Founder of Sano Ghar, honored for her longstanding humanitarian service; Ejaj Alam, recognized as an Entrepreneur and Social Worker; Maya Thami, honored as a Social Activist; Professor Dr. Pawan Kumar Mandal, recognized for his contribution to academia and social awareness; Ganapati Lal Shrestha, honored as a Heritage Conservation Activist; Pinky Gurung, recognized as an LGBTIQ Rights Advocate; Radha Matangi, President of Community Development Center Nepal, honored for her work in community development and social leadership; and Resham Nepking, recognized as an Artist and Social Activist.
Similarly, Rajaram Shrestha, representing the Nepal Red Cross Society, Kathmandu District Chapter, was honored for his contribution to humanitarian service. Rebika Sahane, Founder of Vivek Swachha Sewa Kendra, received the award for her commitment to social service initiatives. Sarita Lamichhane, Founder of Prayatna Nepal, was recognized for her role in social advocacy and community support. Sarita Kumari Shah was honored for her dedication as a Health Volunteer, Maya Ghar Nepal (Itahari) and Tilak Bahadur Batala, Founder of Aina Foundation, was recognized for his contributions to social welfare and humanitarian support. Tasi Dongba Hyolmo was honored as a Cultural Leader for his efforts in promoting and preserving cultural identity.
The ceremony was graced by Honorable Ram Prasad Bhandari, Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Nepal, who attended as the Chief Guest, and Urmila Shrestha, Vice President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and President of the Women’s Chamber, who attended as the Special Guest. The distinguished guests presented the award trophies and certificates of recognition to the honorees.
Addressing the gathering, Pradip Raj Onta, Chairperson of Season Media Pvt. Ltd., stated that the primary objective of the event is to recognize and celebrate individuals and institutions whose dedication and initiatives have made a meaningful difference in society. He emphasized that honoring such contributions not only acknowledges their commitment but also inspires the younger generation to actively participate in social responsibility and community development.
The ceremony was hosted by fashion choreographer and media personality Rojin Shakya, who conducted the program in an engaging and professional manner. The program was supported by an advisory panel comprising Khil Bahadur Bhandari, Senior Journalist and Editor-in-Chief of Samabeshi Monthly; Somnath Sapkota, Spokesperson of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) International Coordination Council; Yogesh Pokharel, Public Relations Officer of Global IME Bank; Amit Sharma, Entrepreneur and Social Worker; Hari Gopal Shrestha, Senior Photojournalist; and Sushil Aryal, Editor-in-Chief of NewsPolar.com.
According to the organizers, Season Media Pvt.
