Shaan to Perform Live in Kathmandu on August 22, 2026
Popular Indian singer Shaan is set to perform in Kathmandu at Club Nova, Thamel, on 22 August 2026, bringing his familiar Bollywood melodies and evergreen pop favourites to Nepali audiences.
The concert is expected to attract listeners who grew up with Shaan’s romantic playback songs as well as younger fans who continue to discover his music through streaming platforms and social media.
Known for his warm voice and easy-going stage presence, Shaan has built a career spanning more than two decades as a playback singer, composer, independent pop artist and television personality. His official YouTube channel describes a musical journey of over 25 years, covering film songs and original non-film releases.
Shaan’s upcoming appearance follows another major Bollywood music event at the same venue. Last month, celebrated playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya arrived in Kathmandu for his first live concert in Nepal, held at Club Nova on 20 June 2026. Known as the voice behind numerous evergreen Hindi film songs, his performance reflected Kathmandu audiences’ continuing enthusiasm for nostalgic Bollywood music.
For Nepali listeners, however, Shaan’s catalogue carries an additional layer of familiarity.
He was among the credited singers of “Musu Musu,” the popular track featured in the 1999 Hindi film Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. The soundtrack credits Vishal Dadlani, Shiraz, Samrat and Shaan on the song.
The melody traces its roots to the beloved Nepali classic “Musu Musu Hasi Deu,” made famous by Norden Tenzing Bhutia and The Himalayans. The band, formed by Nepali-speaking Gurkha musicians in Hong Kong during the 1970s, became known for several influential Nepali pop-rock songs.
The Hindi recreation helped introduce the instantly recognisable tune to a wider Indian audience, while the original has continued to hold nostalgic value across generations of Nepali music lovers.
That cross-border connection could become one of the most anticipated moments of Shaan’s Kathmandu performance. A live rendition of “Musu Musu” would likely invite a strong singalong from the audience, although the final setlist has not yet been publicly confirmed.
Beyond “Musu Musu,” Shaan is widely associated with songs such as “Tanha Dil,” “Chand Sifarish,” “Jab Se Tere Naina,” “Main Hoon Don” and several romantic Bollywood favourites from the 2000s.
