Nepali actress and filmmaker Gaumaya Gurung has shared photographs from her wedding to Deevas, announcing that the couple tied the knot surrounded by their families and loved ones.
“Got married to the love of my life, Deevas in presence of our families and loved ones,” Gaumaya wrote alongside the photographs. She added that she was sharing a few moments from their special day.
The wedding pictures offer a glimpse into the couple’s intimate celebration, with Gaumaya and Deevas appearing together during the ceremony. Further information about the wedding venue, exact date and other celebrations was not disclosed in the announcement.
Gaumaya and Deevas’ journey together
Gaumaya and Deevas have been publicly associated for several years. They have travelled together and collaborated through Khula Akash, a platform featuring travel stories narrated in Nepali.
The two are also connected with the SeeNepal Foundation, an organisation supporting eye-care initiatives in rural Nepal.
The marriage announcement drew warm wishes from followers, friends and members of the entertainment community, who congratulated the couple as they began a new chapter together.
International recognition with Shape of Momo
Gaumaya recently added another significant achievement to her film career through Shape of Momo, also known by its Nepali title Chhora Jastai.
Directed by Tribeny Rai, the Nepali-language drama won the Best Feature Film award at the Nepal America International Film Festival 2026, held in Maryland, United States. Gaumaya stars in the film alongside Pashupati Rai.
The film, which opened the Maryland-based festival, follows a woman confronting patriarchal expectations and complex family relationships after returning to her Himalayan hometown.
The award further strengthened Gaumaya’s growing profile in internationally recognised South Asian cinema.
Set to appear opposite Dayahang Rai in Pension Patta
Gaumaya will next be seen as a lead actor in the upcoming Nepali film Pension Patta, in which she is paired with Dayahang Rai.
Written and directed by actor-filmmaker Maotse Gurung, the film is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026.
The ensemble cast also includes Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, Pashupati Rai, Sunil Thapa and Luniva Tuladhar, among others.
Material released from the film shows Gaumaya and Dayahang as central members of a story rooted in Nepali family life and Gurung culture. The film’s song “Juni Jaala” was filmed in Tangting village in Kaski and features traditional clothing, music and cultural elements from the Gurung community.
Gaumaya Gurung’s film journey
Based in London, Gaumaya is an actress, screenwriter and optometrist. She gained wider recognition among Nepali audiences through films including Kabaddi 4: The Final Match and Fulbari.
Her other screen credits include MahaJatra, Pooja, Sir, 1915: Legend of the Gurkhas and the BBC miniseries Black Narcissus.
Gaumaya was also selected for Berlinale Talents in 2024, where she highlighted her interest in indigenous cinema, women’s empowerment and stories exploring identity, migration and belonging.
