“National Kids of the Year 2024,” now in its fourth edition, was successfully held at the Rastriya Naachghar in Jamal, Kathmandu. The event was designed to highlight the talents of school-going children, and participants were divided into junior and senior categories based on their age groups.
In the senior category, Utsarga Bhattarai, a Grade 7 student from Galaxy Public School, and Caring Dong, a Grade 5 student from NIC Academy, emerged as the overall winners. They were praised for their exceptional performances and talents. Nishan Ulak and Parisa Sitoula were declared the first runners-up, while Arogya Shrestha and Ikshita Tandukar secured the second runner-up positions.
In the junior category, Pranaya Manandhar, a Grade 2 student from Rose Bird School, and Pranvi Acharya, a Grade 3 student from Machhapuchhre IB School, were crowned winners. Avignya Dangol and Saina Thapa finished as first runners-up, while Daryan Kunwar and Ayuja Chaudhary took the second runner-up positions.
The winning participants, both in the senior and junior categories, received the prestigious opportunity to represent Nepal in an international children’s pageant to be held in Thailand. In addition to this remarkable opportunity, they were awarded gift hampers and discount vouchers for international air tickets worth Rs. 25,000 each from Holiday Treat Nepal, adding to the excitement of their victories.
The competition was organized by Dheeraj Tandukar under the banner of Event Better Galaxy Entertainment, reflecting his commitment to fostering young talent. The event also had a strong team of experts to guide the participants.
Swastika Rajbhandari was the choreographer, ensuring that the children’s performances were well-coordinated and polished. Sophia Maharjan Kaki acted as the public speech coach, helping the participants refine their speaking skills, while Ashant Sharma served as the acting instructor, and Liza Shrestha took on the role of dance instructor, shaping the children’s artistic performances.
Adding to the grandeur, the participants performed in outfits designed by fashion designer Inta Shrestha, from Inta Attire, showcasing a blend of creativity and talent. The event was not only a celebration of the children’s abilities but also a well-coordinated effort to uplift young performers through the guidance of industry professionals.
