Selected through auditions conducted in different parts of the country, the contestants received their official sashes and contestant numbers from personalities representing various professional fields.

The ceremony marked their formal entry into the competition and the beginning of an intensive preparation period leading to the grand finale.

The 22 finalists are Priyashikha Khadka, Sagun Khanal, Sophia Dhakal, Richa Sharma, Swechha Poudyal, Rasna Shrestha, Yasmin Begum Said, Neha Gupta, Dipti Dhungel, Bindu Thapa Rana, Shilpa Neupane, Shanta Rana, Sunita Shrestha Karmacharya, Sandhya Lama, Binita Gurung, Jyoti Lamichhane, Samiksha Ranabhat, Sushma Thapa, Christina Gyawali, Anju Pariyar, Monica Tamang and Kanchan Maharjan.

According to Nishukant Jha, Chairman of organiser Ribbon Entertainment, the finalists come from a wide range of professional and social backgrounds. The line-up includes homemakers, doctors, engineers, bankers, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, fashion designers, nurses and managers.

The diversity of the contestants reflects the broader direction of Mrs Nepal World, which places emphasis not only on appearance but also on personality, confidence, talent, professional identity and social contribution.

Shila Bastola, one of the organisers, said the competition offers women balancing professional careers and family responsibilities an opportunity to present their abilities, personality and talent on a wider platform.

For the finalists, the competition now moves beyond the ceremonial introduction into weeks of grooming, training and competitive preparation.

45 Days of Training Before the Finale

Mrs Nepal World 2026 is scheduled to hold its grand finale on October 31, 2026 (Kartik 14, 2083 B.S.) at Nepal Police Club in Kathmandu.

The eventual Mrs Nepal World winner will earn the opportunity to represent Nepal at the international Mrs World competition in the United States.

The same national platform will also crown titleholders for Mrs Nepal International, MS International and Mrs Nepal Cosmo, creating additional opportunities for Nepali women to participate in international pageantry.

Ahead of the finale, the 22 contestants will undergo approximately 45 days of training, grooming and competitive activities aimed at strengthening their overall presentation.

Ashwini Jha is leading the choreography for this year’s edition, with Nisha Baraily serving as co-choreographer. Sandeep Bhujel will provide dance training, while Ganga Maharjan and Bindhiya Shrestha will coordinate the preparation programme.

The training will focus on areas including stage presence, confidence, communication, personality development and presentation skills, preparing the contestants for both the competitive rounds and the grand finale.

From Mrs Nepal International to Mrs Nepal World

The story of Mrs Nepal World is closely linked with the development of Ribbon Entertainment’s national platform for married women.

Before adopting the Mrs Nepal World identity, the competition operated as Mrs Nepal International and provided Nepali women with opportunities to compete on international pageant platforms.

Sabita Lamichhane became Mrs Nepal International in 2015, followed by Anupama Rai in 2016, Suruchi Pandey in 2017, Chanda Thapa Giri in 2018 and Bhawisha Koirala Chataut in 2019.

A major transition came in 2021 when the platform introduced the Mrs Nepal World title, creating a pathway for its winner to represent Nepal at Mrs World. Diksha KC became the first Mrs Nepal World titleholder.

The pageant reached another international milestone through Prithiviya Thapa, who won Mrs Nepal World 2023. Representing Nepal at Mrs World, she advanced to the semi-final stage and received the Mrs World Humanitarian Award.

Dr. Denila Karki was subsequently crowned Mrs Nepal World 2024.

In 2025, Rakshya Panta from Butwal succeeded her as Mrs Nepal World, while Sanju Bhatta earned the Mrs Nepal International title.

With another 22 contestants now beginning their journey in the 2026 edition, Mrs Nepal World continues to position itself as more than a conventional beauty competition. Its evolving format places increasing emphasis on confidence, communication, talent, professional identity, social responsibility and the opportunity for Nepali women to step onto international platforms.

For this year’s finalists, the sashes may mark the official beginning of the competition, but the next 45 days will determine who eventually carries Nepal’s name onto the global stage.
