Kirtipur (The Legend of Kirti Lakshmy) stopped by censor board

Historical Nepali Movie – Kirtipur (The Legend of Kirti Lakshmy) has been stopped by the censor board. The film is based on the attack by the then king of Gorkha Prithvi Narayan Shah over Kirtipur in the 18th century.
Hisila MaharjanBoard member and under-secretary at the Ministry for Information and Communications Krishna Prasad Pokharel informed that the board failed to take any decision as the film has historical aspects and issues related to the royal family.

The film under the banner of Focus Picture is directed by Pradip Khadgi. Hishila Maharjan, Mani Lawat, Suraj Garach, Laxmi Giri, Madan das Shrestha, Shurbir Pandit, Sushil Rajopadhya, Binod Shresha and Uday Shrestha among other have acted in the historical movie. The film is invested by Binod Tamrakar, Prem Khadgi and Ananta Shrestha.

Director Pradip Khadgi claimed that the film carries a balanced story. Art director K K Manadhar opined it not good that the film is stopped by the censor board which was made after official registration at the board itself.
