Final Day of Nepal Fashion week 2014


tgif-nepal-fashion-week-2014-2Glamour Nepal, Kathmandu – The four day fashion extravaganza TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2014 finally ended up on 26th of April 2014 in a high note creating lots of hope for Nepali fashion industry to find out its stand at international level some day in near future. The fourth and final day was overshadowed by designer Daljit Sudan whose creation go a long run applause from the audience. Daljit dared to put on clean line of dresses with minimal glamorization which was found succeeded. Daljit presented two of the collection the first one being inspired by the natural beauty of Kashmir and traditional craftsmanship of Kashmiri silver and gold embroidery. The collection was found explored mostly on the colors like red and maroon the line being the traditional. This collection presented traditional attires like anarkali styles, traditional draping of saris, kurta salwar and lehenga.

The second line of Daljit’s collection was inspired by Divine spirit featuring the contemporary styles with off whites, blues and greens being the major color. This smart casual range was been potrayed on the fabrics like silk linen, linen, georgette and chiffon having the paintings of lotus as the artwork on the dresses.tgif-nepal-fashion-week-2014-3The last day of Nepal fashion week opened with the collection by one of the popular fashion designer of nepali fashion industry, Tenzin Tseten Bhutia. The collection was ready to wear range inspired by the feel of bazaar. The silhouettes were fitted and A-line played on the colors like pink, black, beige, neon green, orange, gold, royal blue, red etc. Embroidery and prints being the highlight of this collection, the evening wear designs were found explored on the fabrics like cotton, velvet, lace, net, brocade, silk etc. Miss Nepal Earth 2010 and media personality Sahana Bajracharya closed this presentation as the show stopper.

On the final day, then came the collection inspired by hippy fashion where the models had the look carried on with the sunglasses and were wearing the dhoti pants, plazo pants and various chic white tops, the lowers being the black. Floral horoscope by the student designers of IEC College of art & fashion, Da Jangmu Sherpa and Kavita Rai had hand printed floral touch in their collection. The base of the collection was white which was been highlighted with the floral prints in vivid colors like red, green, pink, yellow and even the black. Tubes, halters and backless styles were dominant in this collection. Srijana Pokharel and Teressa Thapa had more over summer spring collection using the earthy colors. The collection featured mainly the knee length dresses explored on the fabrics like crepe and printed fabrics. This collection brought up two dresses for the male audience.tgif-nepal-fashion-week-2014-1Next came Blu Rosa by team of Kiran Bhetwal, Madhu Maya Shrestha and Tshamata Rai, the students of IEC college of Art & Fashion. Inspired by the Blue Rose, this collection had dresses dominated by the color blue. The silhouette for the collection was fitted waist and sheath. With the ornamentation using the armlet dresses were been explored on the fabrics like lycra, tissue and brasso. Actress Richa Sharma played the role of show stopper while this sequene too did justice to male models.

Spring Blossom, in spanish Salto Lozania hit ramp on the fourth day as well. Sujina Maharjan, Romina Dhakal, Sabita Dulal, Sailaja Shrestha wear the team members to present the designs under the mentioned theme. The collection had maxi dresses played on the fabrics like chiffon and georgette, some being very flowy and others having the gathers. With base color being white, the action colors been used were blue, red, green, yellow, pink and purple. Miss Global Nepal Neelam Chand made show stoppers walk in this round.

Designer duo Apsara Chaudhary and Kamali Tamang were seen putting on their effort on collection inspired by Signature brand with the use maroon as the major color. Their collection had various styles ranging from full length side slit dresses to gowns, fish tail styles to asymmetrical and many others as well.

The event that started with a bang finally ended in a high note creating hopes and aspirations for the betterment and grand presentation in coming years. Cudos to Hair stylist Rajesh Ghimire and Makeup artist Sneha Rana, Choreographer Prashant Tamrakar, the performing models, the technical team in sound design and light arrangement and the designers who put on their applauding creativity and imagination to make the event more colorful, stylish, glamorous and worthy to watch and to be kept in memory.
