Watch, Disaster revealed in New Trailer for Everest

Everest follows expeditions led by guides Rob Hall and Scott Fischer as the Western climbers under their watch struggle to survive a snowstorm high on the mountain.

First official trailer for the movie Everest has been revealed by Universal Pictures on Thursday 05 June 2015, an upcoming film based on 1996 disaster on the mountain in which eight climbers died. Jon Krakauer, who wrote the book Into Thin Air about those events for outside, later became the bestselling book.

Everest is an upcoming 2015 American 3D historical biography action adventure climate-disaster thriller film. Edited and directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by Justin Isbell, William Nicholson, Mark Medoff and Academy Award winner Simon Beaufoy.

The film was shot on location in Nepal on the foothills of Everest, the Italian Alps and at Cinecitta Studios in Rome and Pinewood Studios in the U.K. The movie features Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal.

The trailer ends with a note reading: “Please join Universal Pictures and the filmmakers of Everest in supporting earthquake relief in Nepal. Visit oxfamamerica.org to donate.”

Everest, Universal will distribute Everest worldwide and hit the screen and IMAX on September 18, 2015.
