A Mero Hajur 5 Filming Begins With Anmol KC and Suhana Thapa

Anmol KC and Suhana Thapa are reuniting on screen for the third time as filming for ‘A Mero Hajur 5’ officially gets underway. Director Jharana Thapa launched the shoot with a traditional muhurat ceremony at the Banglamukhi Temple in Patan, Lalitpur.

Adding another layer of interest to the fifth installment, Jharana is also returning as an actress in the franchise nearly 25 years after appearing in the original ‘A Mero Hajur’.

The muhurat ceremony was held with special prayers at the temple, where Anmol and Suhana gave the first ceremonial shot for the film.

According to the production team, several important sequences will be filmed in Badimalika, the renowned religious and tourist destination in Bajura, as well as in the Khaptad National Park region.

Anmol KC and Suhana Thapa will once again appear as the lead pair in ‘A Mero Hajur 5’.

The two previously worked together in ‘A Mero Hajur 3’, released in 2019, and ‘A Mero Hajur 4’, released in 2022. The fifth installment will mark their third collaboration as an on-screen pair.

Anmol had formally signed on for the project last year. Since then, the film’s casting and shooting locations have remained topics of interest within Nepal’s film industry.

Jharana Thapa Returns to ‘A Mero Hajur’ as Actress After Nearly 25 Years

Jharana Thapa Returns to Acting in the Franchise

One of the biggest attractions of ‘A Mero Hajur 5’ is Jharana Thapa’s return to acting. Now, nearly 25 years later, she is returning to the same franchise not only as its director but also as a cast member.

Jharana played the female lead opposite late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha in the first ‘A Mero Hajur’, directed by Shiva Regmi and released in 2002.

The production team has not revealed whether Jharana will reprise her character from the original film or appear in an entirely new role. Her character is therefore being kept as one of the film’s key surprises.

Badimalika and Khaptad to Feature on the Big Screen

Even before filming began, Jharana had revealed plans to make Badimalika one of the film’s major shooting locations.

She has said that the aim is to introduce the region’s natural beauty, religious significance, culture and tourism potential to a wider audience through cinema.

The decision suggests that ‘A Mero Hajur 5’ will go beyond its star cast and romantic storyline by also incorporating the natural and cultural landscape of Nepal’s far-western region.

The production team has also confirmed that scenes will be filmed around Khaptad National Park.
