GlamourNepal, Kathmandu – What happened on the 22nd of February 2014 ? might not be the proper question. It might suit this way, what not happened! The top listed premiere fashion designers of Nepal like Rajesh Dhakwa and Yogendra Meher Bajracharya, the fashion choreographer Prashant Tamrakar, Vice Principal of Namuna college of fashion technology Jibeshwor Lal Shrestha,Glamour photographer Rajbhai Suwal and Senior beautician Kamala Shrestha were seen in the row of jury panel. The popular and the beautiful ones like Namrata Shrestha, Anita Acharya, Aashisma Nakarmi, Akesha Bista, Suvekchhya Khadka, Sapana Adhikari, Osika Neupane, Muskan Limbu were seen on the runway as the show stoppers for the show. Guitar Maestro Anil Shahi and his team did showcase their live music performance. And above all were the wonderful dresses, immense creativity and exploration of designing skills on different fabrics and color palette. It was all about the designer contest 2014 named as Voyage of creation organized by Nepal institute of fashion, NIF.
With the competition coming to the end top three winners were been declared. The second runner-ups designer was Shreesha Sapkota who presented her designs under theme, color of life. With the exploration of colors like white representing purity, other different colors signifying different aspects of life and the color black to represent the end of life. Anchu Pandey was been declared as the first runner-ups. Her creativity was the blend of trash and fashion being the Trashion. The theme was focused on pollution and global warming signified with the utilization of plastic bags, plastic cups, metallic chains, paper, thread, cd pieces etc.

Finally with the cash prize of rupees fifty thousand, the trio designers Sajina Bista, Manjila Napit and Kushum Lama were been declared as the winner of the competition. The collection was again a message oriented one, with the awareness related to environmental pollution and wastage. The use of polychromatic colors and various recyclable and waste materials were the highlight to justify the theme.
With some three dozen of male and female models sashayed the dresses designed by the contestant designers and non contestant designers named Kalpana Younghang Limbu, Amitesh Karn and Amit Jha did launched their designer line of creativity. Among them Kalpana’s collection was focused on Dhaka focused on promoting the traditional style in modern approach while Amitesh’s collection was all about lehenga and cholis. Likewise Amit’s AJ Clothing line was centralized on knitted garments. The show coordinated by Srijana Pokharel had a highlight featuring six wheel chair models whose courage and confidence made the whole auditorium to stand out and salute their performance. The event was been choreographed by Rojin Shakya.
