The IIFT School of Fashion and Interior Design has proudly wrapped up the 10th season of its renowned fashion event, Dress to Impress. This year’s showcase featured over 100 fashion design students who had completed at least six months of their courses. The event highlighted the students’ talents through four themed presentation rounds, with each theme crowning a winner.
Under the theme “Parametric Palace,” Jigyasa Shrestha emerged as the winner, while Khusbu Sewa took the top spot in the “Megalophobic” theme. The “Carried Away in Deja Vu” theme saw Shilu Bajracharya as the victor, and Indrawati Chhetri triumphed in the “Mythological Garden” theme. Each winner received a cash prize of fifteen thousand rupees, along with a title trophy, certificate, and various gift hampers.
The event not only showcased the exclusive creativity of the participating designers but also had them model their own creations. Media personality and choreographer Rojin Shakya hosted and choreographed the event, ensuring a seamless and engaging presentation.
A distinguished panel of jury members judged the performances, including popular singer Uday Sotang, journalist Krishna Bhattarai, and fashion designers Mahesh Maharjan, Nisha Shrestha, Kusum Padam Shrestha, and Geeta Mishra. Additionally, the event honored seventy-six graduates of IIFT with certificates of completion for their fashion design courses. Celebrated fashion designer Yubi Thapa presented the graduation certificates.
According to Fupu Tenzing Sherpa, the managing director of IIFT, Dress to impress is a regular event aimed at enhancing, empowering, and exploring the creativity of student fashion designers. The event helps develop their competitive skills, making them more competent and professional in their field.
