Former Miss Nepal and actress Malina Joshi will be appearing in a role of a Tharu girl. She will be playing a role of a girl from Tharu community in the film ‘Jhumki’. 2011 Miss Nepal has already acted in ‘Ritu’ and also had performed an item dance in movie ‘Kollywood’.
Speaking a press meet organized in the capital on Monday, the actress said that it is challenging for her to play the role of a character of a community that she doesn’t have knowledge. Malina added that she will begin shooting only after learning Tharu language and also the lifestyle of the indigenous people. The film will be shot in Tharu community of Dang district.
“Jhumki” is a directional debut of Apil Bista who had produced ‘Dasdhunga’. The story of the film revolves on a story of a police officer in love with a Tharu girl and also depicts people’s movement and armed conflict.
Dayahang Rai, Rishma Gurung, Manoj RC, Pramod Agrahari, Bholaraj Sapkota among others is playing in the film. ‘Jhumki’ written by Ram Babu Gurung is
produced by Birat Bista.
According to the film unit, the first phase of shooting will start on Poush, second phase on Falgun and third and final phase on Bhadra. Kali Prasad Banskota is the song composer, Asta Maharjan is fight director while, Sailendra Dhoj Karki is the cinematographer of the film.
