Nepali producers and directors often have a same grievance: Nepali films don’t have audiences. Audiences here charge a film to be boring even without watching it. The view counter of the movies uploaded on You Tube defends the accusation. Nepali movies have been watched over million times in the video streaming website – You Tube.
Which film watched how many times?
The numbers of people watching Nepali film ‘Kabaddi’ that was uploaded on You Tube on 3rd of January 2015 has reached more than 2 lakhs 50 Thousand times. ‘Mayas Bar’ uploaded on You Tube by Budha Subba on 31st of December 2014 has crossed 1lakh 35 Thousand views.
‘Jholay’ acted by Dayahang Rai and Priyanka Karki failed to do good business in cinemas, but the views of the film uploaded on You Tube by Music Nepal on 15 of October 2014 has already crossed 14 lakhs 44 Thousands. The view count of ‘Chadke’ is reaching 3 lakhs 92 thousand times on You Tube, uploaded by Music Nepal on 15th of May 2014. Super hit ‘Nai Nabhannu La-2’ uploaded on You Tube by Budha Subba on 30th September 2014 has reached more than 5 lakhs.
Some 1 lakh 47 thousand times watched ‘Apabad’ of Raj Ballav Koirala and Nisha Adhikari, while the number of people watching ‘Kina Kina’ of Rajesh Hamal and Karishma Manandhar has crossed 13 lakhs 64 thousand times in five months.
Similarly, some 10 lakhs audiences have already watched ‘Hostel’ acted by Bhuwan KC and his son Anmol KC. ‘ATM’ has crossed over 25 lakh 10 thousand views on You Tube.
Earlier, pirated videos were uploaded to You Tube, but now-a-days official companies like Music Nepal, Buddha Subba, PNP Media House, Om Sai Ram Records, Hi-Tech Entertainment have been uploading movies on You Tube.
