Salina Tamang Signs Nepali Film Debut with ‘Kangal Karodpati’
Salina Tamang is set to make her debut in the Nepali film industry with ‘Kangal Karodpati’, where she will be seen opposite actor Mukun Bhusal. Directed by Raju Shrestha, the film has now locked its lead pair, bringing a fresh on-screen combination to Nepali cinema.
According to the production team, Salina officially signed the film earlier this month. With her entry, Mukun Bhusal and Salina Tamang will share the screen as a pair for the first time.
Salina has expressed happiness over joining the project, calling Kangal Karodpati a suitable film for her debut. “I am extremely happy to get the opportunity to act as a character in this film. I hope everyone will give a lot of love and support to my acting and this upcoming film,” Salina said after signing the project.
One of the interesting aspects of Salina’s debut is her acting background. She trained in Mumbai at The Actor’s Truth under Bollywood acting coach Saurabh Sachdeva. Sachdeva is known both as an acting mentor and as an actor who has appeared in popular Hindi films, including the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer blockbuster Animal.
The film is being produced under the banner of Cinema Pathshala Pvt. Ltd. Pravin Acharya is the presenter of the film, while Anilkumar Budhathoki is the producer. The co-producers are Chhiring Tamang, Prabin Rai, and Pravesh Sapkota. Rita Shrestha Tamang and Suraj Kumar are attached as line producers.
The story of Kangal Karodpati has been written by Suman Gajmer. The production team says some cast members have already been finalized, while auditions for a few new characters will be announced soon.
A catchy title, a new lead pairing, and a debut actress trained in Mumbai, Kangal Karodpati is expected to attract curiosity among Nepali film audiences. More details about the film’s storyline, genre, supporting cast, and shooting schedule are likely to be revealed by the production team in the coming days.
