Kalpanam Satyatat: A Mesmerizing Showcase of Creativity and Innovation in Nepalese Fashion Design


The 17th graduation fashion show of Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT) was a mesmerizing event that left fashion lovers in awe. The event, named ‘Kalpanam Satyatat’, was highly anticipated in the Nepalese fashion scene, and it did not disappoint. The 83 graduating designers showcased their individual creativity through a series of mesmerizing presentations that explored various themes.

Each collection featured a masterpiece of creative wear that took center stage on the runway. The specific area of the runway even started moving around with the support of a revolving mechanism, making it a beautiful execution and most probably the first time ever applied in any fashion event of Nepalese scene. This mesmerizing presentation was accompanied by a doll dressed exactly like the model, adding an extra layer of creativity and imagination.

The event saw nine different collections derived from various inspirations under nine different themes like Crystalline, Femme Fatale, Aurora, Gilded Glamour, Kintsugi art, Black Swan, Graffiti, Glow in Dark, and Eclectic. Each presentation saw the saga of expression portrayed on the canvas of various fabrics, explored through various elements of design and variations, and expressed in various moods of colors to create a magnificent and mesmerizing look for each piece of clothing.

The event took place at The Soaltee Kathmandu, and the runway came to life with the awesome performances by 27 female and 6 male models, including both professional models and students from NCFT itself. The show was directed and choreographed by media person and fashion choreographer Rojin Shakya.

 

The show also incorporated the launching of the second edition of the fashion catalog published by Namuna College of fashion technology. The unveiling of the fashion catalog was jointly performed by Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University Prof. Dr. Yadav Raj Koirala and Founder Principal of Namuna College Mrs. Gyani Shova Tuladhar. The show was presented as a part of the academic requirements of the “Fashion Show” course of the final (eight) semester under Purbanchal University’s Bachelor of Fashion Design and Management (BFDM) program.

Several distinguished guests played the role of evaluators to judge the creations of the 17th batch graduating student designers. Chairman of Saakha Group, Kiran Saakha, Executive Director of National Skill Testing Board Dr. Kul Bahadur Basnet, Fashion Choreographer and actor Prasant Tamrakar, First Miss Nepal Ruby Rana Shah, Fashion Designer Ramila Nemkul, and Fashion Educators Rajendra Singh, Kushma Shrestha, and Nisha Shrestha were among the evaluators.

In conclusion, the 17th graduation fashion show of Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT) was a breathtaking event that showcased the creativity, innovation, and imagination of the graduating designers. The event was a true visual treat for fashion lovers who enjoyed the new taste of creativity on fashion designs and the beautifully crafted and showcased presentation on stage. The NCFT graduation fashion show has once again proven to be a prominent platform for the Nepalese fashion scene.
