Film artists have started donation collection to assist people victimized by the outbreak of epidemic in Jajarkot district since three weeks. Artists gathered at Mandala Theater in capital on Wednesday and stressed that all should be award to contain the epidemic.

Speaking on the occasion, director Nischal Basnet said that victims are in dire need of economic assistance, while actress Priyanka Karki expressed commitments to make possible assistance from her sector.
Likewise, director ManojPandit stressed that film artists should be involved in social works too. Remembering the last year’s Sunkoshi landslide, artist Dayahang Rai said that such incidents saddens him.
The artists collected over Rs 20,000. The amount will be sent to the swine flu-hit areas within the week. 26 people have died and thousands have been taken ill by the spread of flu in the district since three weeks.
