A sculptural burgundy silhouette stands before a carved wooden doorway. Gold-toned ornaments trace the waist and a long braid, while patterned Nepali textiles bring colour and movement to the lower half of the look. This is ANVAYA – The Gilded Heritage, the latest design preview for Namuna College of Fashion Technology’s Journey of Fashion XXI.

Presented with the concept स्वर्ण मेरुदण्ड – Nepalese Gilded Spine, ANVAYA takes inspiration from traditional Nepali adornment. Rather than treating jewellery as a finishing touch, the nine-designer team has made it part of the outfit’s structure and visual story.

The fitted burgundy bodice contrasts with dramatically gathered shoulders and wide, flowing sleeves. A line of gold-toned pieces runs along one side of the upper body, while a bold ornamental belt marks the waist. The model’s long braid carries circular decorations and ends in a red tassel, drawing the eye down the silhouette.

The lower section brings in a different rhythm. Geometric and floral patterns in red, pink, black and pale blue cover the wide-legged garment, giving the look a lively counterpart to the solid burgundy above. Seen together, the shape, textile and ornaments create a design that feels ceremonial without recreating any single traditional outfit.

The photographs place model @abisha_mhr against carved architecture. In one frame, she stands within an intricately detailed doorway; in closer portraits, the gathered sleeves, belt and braid become the focus. The images were captured by @capture.photography.nepal.

ANVAYA follows the previews of Sampadāko Rūpāntaran – Forged by Heritage and SASYĀRĀ – The Veil of Abundance. While those designs drew on artistic heritage and agricultural landscapes, ANVAYA places Nepali ornamentation at the centre of its couture expression. Glamour Nepal

The wider graduation show is titled Anantarūpavitānam – The Infinite Tapestry of Expressions. Glamour Nepal previously reported that 54 graduating designers are preparing six collections for the event, scheduled for 10 October 2026 at The Plaza, Lalitpur.
