A deep burgundy gown, sculptural gold detailing and the carved stonework of a Nepali heritage site set the scene for Sampadāko Rūpāntaran – Forged by Heritage. The newly shared images offer a first look at a design created for Journey of Fashion XXI, the graduation fashion show by students of Namuna College of Fashion and Technology.
The look draws on Nepal’s artistic and spiritual heritage while taking a contemporary approach to its shape and construction. Gold scrollwork curves across the fitted bodice, shoulders and arms. Below, layered draping gives the gown movement, while a long train extends behind the model.
The setting adds another dimension to the photographs. Framed by carved pillars and stone steps, the design appears in conversation with the architecture around it. Its details invite a closer look at how the graduating designers have interpreted heritage through fashion, rather than simply reproduced a traditional garment.
The preview names the design Sampadāko Rūpāntaran, with the English description Forged by Heritage. It is a team creation credited to eight designers: @aa.ditya.tha.paliya, @anjila.chaudhary, @ku.shhh__, @naincy_dhurba, @pratibhakandel_, @radhhaa8, @rusana_lwagun and @susma_adhikari_. @ku.shhh__ also models the look. The wider 21st graduation show has been announced as Anantarūpavitānam – The Infinite Tapestry of Expressions. Glamour Nepal’s earlier coverage reported plans for six collections by 54 graduating designers, with 31 models selected after auditions. Sampadāko Rūpāntaran is one previewed design within that larger show.
Namuna says its graduating designers have presented shows under the Journey of Fashion name since 2005. For the students, the runway is an opportunity to show the ideas and craft developed during their studies to a wider fashion audience.
Journey of Fashion XXI is scheduled for 10 October 2026 at The Plaza. As the date approaches, this heritage-inspired preview gives a glimpse of the creative work taking shape ahead of the show.
