An eight-year-old child from Biratnagar in eastern Nepal is in a bid to register his name as the ‘Youngest Film Director’ in the Guinness World Records. A nine-year-old child from neighboring India currently holds the record.
Meet Saugat Bista, a second grader at Suryodaya Jyoti Secondary School in Dillibazaar, Kathmandu who is attempting to break world record by directing film at a tender age of eight years.
He has recently directed a film ‘Love You Baba’ which is set to be released on December 12 in over 50 theaters both in and outside Kathmandu Valley.
During a press conference organized in Birtamod on Wednesday to inform about the film, director Bista said that editing and other post-production works of the movie are in progress.
The tragic film is produced at a budget of 4.7 million. ‘Love You Baba’ centers on the story of a father’s struggles to raise his daughter alone without the support of a partner. It was also revealed during the press meet that work to register Saugat as the ‘Youngest Film Director’ in the Guinness World Records is also in progress.
