The highly anticipated film Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, has been generating a lot of buzz since its announcement. Fans of the actors have been eagerly anticipating the film’s release and have been excited by the release of two of its songs. While one of these songs, Besharam Rang, has faced some controversy, it has still managed to gain a significant amount of popularity.
According to Indian media reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) requested a number of cuts be made to the film in order to obtain a UA rating. These cuts included the removal of close-up shots of “buttocks, side-pose, and sensuous dance movements” during the song Besharam Rang, as well as the replacement of certain words and phrases throughout the film. For example, the word “RAW” was replaced with “Hamare,” and the phrase “Langde Lulle” was removed and replaced with “Toote Foote.” In addition, the word “PMO” was removed and the word “PM” was replaced with either “President” or “Minister” at 13 different points in the film.
Other changes included the replacement of the word “Mrs Bharatmata” with “Hamari Bharatmata” and the substitution of “Ashok Chakra” with “Veer Puraskar.” The word “KGB” was also replaced with “SBU,” and in one of the film’s dialogues, the word “scotch” was changed to “drink,” with a reference to Russia also being removed. Despite these cuts, the CBFC still awarded the film a UA rating.
The length of the film is stated to be 2 hours and 26 minutes. It is unclear at this time if the saffron bikini featured in the song Besharam Rang has also been removed. Overall, fans of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are excited to see the film, and are hoping that the final product will live up to their expectations.
