With a professional journey spanning more than two decades, she has emerged as one of the most influential designers advocating environmentally responsible fashion while maintaining the highest standards of couture craftsmanship. Her work harmoniously blends sustainability, ethical production, and refined elegance, positioning her among the most respected innovators transforming the global bridal fashion industry.

Her journey in fashion began at a remarkably young age. In 1998, at just seventeen years old, she received the Best Design Award for a handcrafted couture creation produced in collaboration with Nepali women artisans. This early recognition marked the beginning of a career defined by creativity and social responsibility. The following year, in 1999, she was honored with the prestigious title Best Designer of the Year Nepal, and was also recognized among the “Best Eight Young Achievers of Nepal.” During the early phase of her career she designed couture gowns for contestants participating in the internationally renowned pageants Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific, while also serving as a designer and mentor for contestants of Miss Nepal. Beyond her professional work, she actively contributed to social and environmental causes, volunteering with the World Wildlife Fund and advocating ethical fashion practices.

Seeking to expand her global vision, Shrestha relocated to London and graduated from the prestigious London College of Fashion in 2005. Her international career flourished as she embraced the philosophy of sustainable design. In 2011, she launched her luxury sustainable bridal label in London, introducing one of the world’s earliest eco-conscious couture bridal collections. Her creations incorporate innovative natural textiles including Himalayan nettle, hemp, bamboo fiber, banana fiber, soy silk, milk fiber, and organic cotton. Through this pioneering approach she demonstrated that environmental responsibility can coexist with high fashion and couture sophistication.

Her groundbreaking work quickly attracted global recognition. In 2011, she received the Best Newcomer Award at the Perfect Wedding Awards and the Innovation Award at the JP Selects Excellence Awards, acknowledging her revolutionary approach to sustainable bridal design. A remarkable milestone followed in 2013, when a couture gown designed by her from recycled materials was accepted into the permanent historical archive of the Fashion Museum Bath, making her the first designer of Nepali origin to have her work preserved in the museum’s prestigious collection documenting fashion history from the sixteenth century onward.

Her brand continued to gain international recognition and industry accolades. In 2020, she received the Bridal Buyer Editor’s Choice Award and the internationally recognized Good Brand Award for leadership in ethical luxury fashion. The same year, her boutique was honored as Best Wedding Boutique of the Year – London (2020), highlighting the growing influence of her brand within the British bridal industry. In 2021, she received the Luxury Award at the Vegan Wedding Awards presented by PETA in recognition of her commitment to cruelty-free bridal couture.

Her excellence has also been celebrated at the prestigious Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards, where her brand won Wedding Boutique of the Year – London (2023) and received Highly Commended – Wedding Outfit Designer of the Year (2024). In 2025, she was honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award, recognizing her remarkable contribution to sustainable bridal couture and her lasting impact on the international fashion industry.
In addition to these achievements, her work continues to receive global recognition and nominations. She was nominated for Wedding Outfit Designer of the Year (2024) and Wedding Boutique of the Year (2025) at the Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards. Most recently, she has been nominated for “Wedding Boutique of the Year 2026” at the London Wedding Awards, further affirming her continued prominence and excellence within the international bridal fashion sector.
