The official trailer of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Lajjawati’ has been released, offering a dramatic look at a love story that gradually descends into betrayal, emotional conflict and difficult family circumstances.
The trailer introduces Mukun Bhusal and Januka Bishwakarma as a couple deeply in love. Their affectionate exchanges and joyful moments establish the film’s romantic foundation before mistrust and conflict begin to disrupt their relationship.
As the story unfolds, new characters and circumstances enter their lives, pushing the couple toward increasingly complicated choices. Love becomes intertwined with deception, pain, social pressure and emotional turmoil, suggesting that the central characters will be forced to confront several life-changing challenges.
The trailer places strong emphasis on the shifting relationship between Mukun and Januka. Their chemistry is initially presented through intimate and cheerful moments, but the mood changes as doubt, heartbreak and confrontation take over.
Shree Krishna Niraula and Menuka Majhi also make notable appearances in the trailer. Previously released posters had hinted that the film would explore not only romance but also family relationships, rural life, social connections and emotional clashes.
Written and directed by Raj Bahadur Sane, ‘Lajjawati’ features an ensemble cast that includes Mukun Bhusal, Januka Bishwakarma, Shree Krishna Niraula, Menuka Majhi, Keshav Rijal, Dhiren Shakya, Priya Rijal, Hiuँwala Gautam, Bishal Pahari, CP Poudel, RR Khadka, Binod Shrestha, Deepak Thapa and Kajal Bhujel.
The film is presented by Aaha Films Pvt. Ltd., with Saurabh Oli serving as presenter. Kamal Prasad Sharma and Sandeep Kumar Rokaya are the producers, while Dinesh Budhathoki is attached as executive producer.
The technical team includes cinematographer Divyaraj Subedi and editor Tara Thapa ‘Kimbhe’. The action sequences have been directed by Dev Maharjan, while Kuber Cine Distribution will handle the film’s theatrical distribution.
‘Lajjawati’ is scheduled to arrive in cinemas across Nepal on Shrawan 29, corresponding to August 14. Released ahead of its theatrical opening, the trailer positions the film as an emotionally charged relationship drama centred on love, trust and betrayal.
