Nepali Film ‘Roll No. 1’ Brings Emotional Story of Students and Society
The official trailer of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Roll No. 1’ has been released ahead of its theatrical release. The trailer presents an emotional story centered on child psychology, academic pressure, and the expectations placed on students by families and society.
The trailer highlights the emotional conflict between a father’s dream and a child’s personal interests. While the father wants his son to study well and bring pride to the family and village, the child struggles with different interests and dreams of his own.
The film attempts to show how children often fail in subjects they are forced into despite trying to fulfill their family’s expectations. Through this emotional father-son relationship, the trailer presents the mental pressure faced by students in a society driven by marks, rankings, and social validation.
Another important issue highlighted in the trailer is inequality in education. The film shows how financially weak students are often deprived of scholarship opportunities, while society only values students who secure top positions. The emotional impact of this unhealthy competition and memorization-based education system forms the core of the story.
The trailer also portrays how old social beliefs, family pressure, and rigid educational expectations affect the emotional development and confidence of children. Rather than focusing only on academics, the movie appears to question the overall mindset surrounding education in society today.
