‘Jumla Shanti Stupa Charity Show’ will be organized in the capital for assistance to an under construction stupa in remote Jumla district. The show will be organized at Norling Resort in Gokarna, Kathmandu on the occasion of Sonam Loshar on January 16.
All the money collected from the event will be spent for constructing the peace stupa. There will be special presentations by Indira Joshi, Rajesh Payal Rai and Tshering Girme in the show
Organizer Himalayan Peace Association said that the stupa is being constructed to further enhance the touristic attraction of the district. Half the work of the stupa has been completed. It said that the construction will cost Rs 2.5 crores.
Chairman of Organizer Himalayan Peace Association Karma Tinlel Tamanag said they aim to collect Rs 12 lakh from the show in Kathmandu. The government has been proving Rs three lakhs annually for construction of the stupa.
