Rojin Shakya | The second day of TGIF Nepal Fashion week, the 31st March 2016 saw fresh and upcoming designers from IEC School of Art & Fashion putting up their collection.
The Filmy Divas like Sanchita Luitel, Jharna Thapa, Mala Limbu, Richa Sharma, Former Miss Earth Nepal Sonie Raj Bhandari and the third runner-ups for Miss Heritage International 2015 Nisha Pathak were seen able to mesmerize the evening of fashion and style through elegance, beauty and charm.
The evening took off through the collection of Roshan Bhattarai, Sajana Acharya and Mina Pokharel named Nyatapol. The collection was inspired from rich heritage of Nepal specially being focused on temples, Durbar Square, bricks and wood carvings. The dresses explored in the fabrics Nepali hand printed fabrics, velvet and others, most of the designs were a line and circular in silhouettes.
The designs showcased by Anita B.K. had multi colors been played and design line was party wear. The long dresses played on the fabrics like lycra, net and silk had head gears accompanied to match the mood of the theme. Designer Anisha Mishra was found exploring her creativity on cocktail party wear range where the colors black and golden were dominant. Almost the dresses were in knee length. The collection called Swarup by the team of Arati Rajbhandari, Suraksha Regmi and Deepa Thapa had long gowns played on multi colors. The major fabrics in this collection were georgette, crepe and satin silk.
Designer Duo Rojina Maharjan and Ujala Kapali gave another set of gowns, this time for the red carpet mood. From the floor length to ankle length styles and long skirt styles the dresses presented were mostly in pastel shades. The vibrant collection of outfits by Anu Sharma Basyal and Remika Shrestha had lots of frills, fringes and glamorous slits. The team of Shobha Kumari Bhattari and Mohammad Rizwan and Bindu Kumari Kandangwa were found experimenting on crochet. With their design line being presented in floor length styles, each dress had crochet patterns being used as the highlight of this collection.
The collection presented by Amrita Pun and Sujata Angdembe was formal office wear having long pencil skirts, high waist pants, belly pants and even Capri styles came live on the runway. The printed chiffon tops made matching combination with above mention button. The fairy tale unveiled by the team of Sujata Karki, Dewant Oli and Susum Giri was pleasant to watch. Played in various pastel shades the dresses wear short skirt dresses.
Around 90 minutes of journey of the second day of TGIF Nepal Fashion week 2016 got a happy ending with the bridal range collection presented by Binisha Manandhar. Models Jenny Maharjan and Lumanti Shakya were dressed like modern day brides with heavily embellished sari draped in modern day style. The other brides of the collection wear found wearing Lehengas, Anarkali and Ghagaras.
